Default What's the Highest Fiber Food that's Induction Legal?

Yes, I know about flax, but it's not on the list, so...

I eat two cups of salad veg (romaine or mesclun mix for the lettuce part) and 1 cup off the other list. I eat half an avocado a few days a week too, and I can't seem to get more than 10-12g of fiber and the RDA is 25g. I feel like I'm eating more vegetables than most people, so it bugs me that I can't seem to find more to add to my diet.

On my low calorie diet, I was eating a lot more fiber (and fruit, of course). The only veg on the list that I really hate is mushrooms, but I don't think they have a lot of fiber anyway.

What I'm driving at is this: Am I missing some magic vegetable that's packed with fiber?

Don't sweat it. As long as you feel good, are regular and things are moving fine you are doing good. None of us can really get that much fiber on induction unless we are eating sawdust

I cannot remember which of the things on the induction list are very fibery - I like jicama - it is good. So is turnip and pumkin . But I am sure about the fiber content but it is up there.
You are allowed flax on induction - 2 tbs a day if you like.

i have been taking psylium husk (pill form) to add another 7 grams during induction. my body is used to a lot of fiber and and i don't feel right without that. if you're like me, and got 25 grams prior to induction, the veggies alone during induction won't do it.

That is right Elizabeth - if you want to (and need to) you can do psylium husks - just remember to do plenty of water with it. I never did. Eating all the veggies just made me feel fine. (perhaps even better than fine )

There are about 20 vegetables listed on the "salad" list. Lettuce is only 1 of them. So don't eat only lettuce or mesclun (which are different varieties of lettuce) for your 2 cups of "salad" vegetables. Eat a variety of the veggies on the "salad" list. By the way, all the vegetables on the "salad" list can be cooked---personally I prefer bok choy and sweet green peppers to be cooked.

And remember, Induction is 14 days long. On Day 15 you may move to On-Going Weight Loss phase, where the first food you will add is 5 net carbs of any vegetable on the Induction vegetable lists.

Spinach, brussel sprouts, and broccoli are likely the highest, likely turnips too. Radishes should be good, and they are awesome sauteed!

I definitely eat other stuff off the salad list, mostly cucumbers and bell peppers. If I make stir-fry, I will down some celery and bok choy too. Sadly, my local grocery store hasn't had any jicama for a month. I just wanted to be clear that I was making the most of my lettuce!

I found a list that has exactly what I was looking for, BTW.

I don't think I can post an html table here, but I will try in another post.
