Question Testing for Ketosis

Hello All.

I recently purchased Ketsosis testing strips and decided to test after I went to dinner tonight.

The reading was on the low side. It wasn't completely negative but it was nowhere near dark purple. I am wondering what I could be doing wrong to prevent ketosis from happening.

I started induction a week ago but realized I was doing it wrong as I was eating nuts and sugar-free pudding. Although I did lose 8lbs by doing so, I knew I had to re-start and do it the proper way. I restarted on Monday and lost 2 lbs since then.

Also, I drank ALOT of water before I tested and I *really* had to go (not that you all want to know my bathroom habits lol..). I don't know if that threw it off or not.

Any and all advice would be helpful. And thank you for reading my terribly long post..

Angela,

Word has it that even if the strip changed color, even slightly, means that you are in Ketosis. Good job on loosing 10lbs so far!!

Well hearing that makes me very happy. Although, I must say that I feel some bit of failure that it isn't darker.

Maybe I am just being too hard on myself.

LOL, dont feel bad. Try again tomorrow. Maybe their are x factors that make it darker some days or certain time of the days. Such as dehydration, testing after working out. Dont feel bad, the important thing is that you're losing weight!

It could also be that you are testing at mid-day try doing it first thing in the morning when you wake up, that's what i did and it worked. It's because your urine is more concentrated (yellow) in the morning after having an 8 hour sleep. Good luck you are doing great
