| Congrats on the loss. Dr. ATkins wrote that losing inches was a better sign of losing fat because it showed that fat was emptying from the body. As for what to order at a steak house.. I you don't like beef or pork, don't eat it. Get something you do like, such as chicken or seafood. Don't order anything that's deepfried or coated in some kind of crust. For your veggies, start with a small salad, and have a portion of a legal cooked veggie (broccoli, green beans, asparagus, etc.) Be aware that some salad dressings contain a bit of added sugar, so avoid that and opt for an oil and vinegar dressing. Desert, I usually order a coffee or a tea and sip that. If you get served a potato, give it to your boyfriend or just don't eat it at all. Ditto with the bread. Personally, I avoid bread at restaurants even before I was low carbing. I read Anthony Bourdain's book and that completely turned me off to eating anything (or even touching) the bread basket. Bourdain said that bread is "recycled"---meaning whatever bread is leftover from one table, it's put into the basket of another table. After seeing people with runny noses paw through their bread basket and after reading that book, I stopped eating bread at restaurants.

| Thanks for the replies, I've been to that place and memorized the menu LOL pretty much everything is breaded besides the meat but I wonder If I could order the chicken strips without the breading? I just checked on the scale, and magically lost 2 pounds i'm really happy. I'm considering just getting grilled shrimp skewers as my main course, but shrimp isn't that filling, hmm. |

| Ribeye with shrimp would be perfect! Add some steam veggies and/or salad too.. You've made a wonderful choice. Just keep telling yourself that you would feel really really crappy if you ate all your old favorites and you have already lost 2 inches! How cool is that! Just think of the prospects of where you can be tomorrow! Don't give in! You will be fine! It might help if while your gazing into the eyes of that guy, you're envisioning what he's going to think when you are all hot and sexy(er) in a few months! YOU CAN DO THIS!

| Atkins is amazing... don't be superstitious... you have done atkins before and seen results so do your best to capture the memories of your previous success. recall each weigh in and how thrilled you were to reach a milestone. Remember the feeling of sliping into clothing you couldn't wear before. By being superstitious about low carbing, all you are doing is giving away your power and ability to be able to control what you are going to eat, and how you will be have and respond to temtations. You have the power to withstand the temptation of a stupid bun on a table (recyled or not) knowing that bun is at fault for layers of fat!!! YOU should be ever so proud to be pursuing a low carb lifestyle. WHAT that tells me is that you want to be healthier and make some personal improvements, and that what you consume is important to you and that you are making the connection between what you put into your mouth and how it impacts your body. You should tell your boyfriend. And not in the typical way we would normally be accustom to telling someone we are on a diet... so often we don't tell people we are "dieting" because of the negative feedback we are so afraid to face... because of the fact that if we tell, and we fail, then those we tell will know we have failed. SO by not sharing you are in essence preparing to fail... no? We are often bashful and apologetic about sharing we are "dieting" like we had something to apologize for.... For me I have shared my decision to low carb with few people initially and as I have seen success I am sharing all the time now. I am not bashful at all about it, in fact I have great pride in asking for a ceasar salad WITHOUT the croutons, and saying yes... I don't eat white flour or sugar. And generally because of my confidance people are mostly supportive. YOU have made a great decision to low carb your way to health! BE PROUD of that And by the way, 2 inches is totally possible. eating carbs make you bloated and as you continue to burn fat you are literally going to see the fat melt off your body! GOOD LUCK!!!
