| That's great! August is "birthday" month in my family (one birthday every week for the entire month!) So my weekends and some weeknights are spent away from my home. What I do is to bring something that is okay for me to eat. For example, yesterday I attended my niece's birthday party. We had the usual cook out food. However, I brought a coleslaw I could eat and a fruit salad I could eat. On other occasions, I've brought legal appetizers or a legal meat dish. Most hosts/hostesses don't mind you bringing something along because one of the worst things to happen during a party is to run out of food!
