Red face so tired - advice please

Hi there
I have been on Atkins Induction for 9 days and have lost 2.5kgs and 2cm each of hips, waist, tummy..however...I woke up this morning and the day before exhausted. I felt I had run a marathon - every part of my body feels heavy and sore and I could carry on sleeping for hours. This seems to pass as the morning wears on (perhaps eating breakfast has something to do with feeling better).
Please could you let me know if this is normal. I drink 1.5 litres of water a day and I take a magnesium/calcium powdered supplement most mornings. I usually have low blood pressure too and I have noticed in the Atkins Diet book that the plan lowers your blood pressure. Could mine be too low and if so how do I rectify this on the eating plan?
Apologies for the long post
Thanks a million

Read page 140, sometimes the process goes too fast and a person needs to add a few carbs temporarily. You might need to eat some extra veggies or even nuts for a day or two, in the case of this extreme fatigue, that would not be a cheat. Dr. Atkins explains that in some cases you need to slow the loss and while your body would probably adjust, no need to feel like crud in the meantime!

STAC stats, first time on Atkins went from 238 to 162. Climbed back up over the last 4 years. I know I can do this!

Induction has such a strong effect on me, I have to add almonds. I know some people really need a clean induction, but adding almonds with my breakfast each day really helps stave off the kinds of problems you are describing. I have not found this addition to significantly slow my weightloss, and the added nutrients are extremely needed. The low blood pressure causes really bad migraines for me....
Hang in there and don't be afraid to tweak things just a little.

Post your menu in the "Review My Menu" Forum

Sometimes, newbies have this strange idea to eat as close to 0 net carbs as possible or they have an equally strange idea to eat only lettuce. So post your menu and let the folks there review it.

I have the same things happen to me. I would add some carbs back ina dn wait...but if you get 2 months in like me and still have these problems - then you might need to see your doc. My blood pressure runs low too. When I add back in carbs I stop loosing. or I am jsut far to impatient to be loosing .6 of a pound veery 2 weeks! I have done really well with loosing - but I am tired and fatigued all the time. I am seeing our doc next week to have my thyroid and adrenals checked out.

Thanks so much for your reply - I simply wouldn't cope for 2 months feeling as fatigued as I have been...I hope your doc can shed some light! Good Luck L
