Default Grrr

Well I kinda had a break down last night.

Feeling like I couldn't hang on....and I ate three french fries. Oh the kiss of death. But I could have had more...and could have had less. Today is a new day.

Bad french fries! Bad....Taylor....

I do hope so! I just didn't plan dinner and that was a big mistake...it left me hungry.

Went to the store and bought steaks and tried broiling them for the first time (we don't have a grill)....they ended up really uber greasy.....went to wendy's....wasn't that hungry and ended up tossing my bun-less burgers and eating three fries.

Note to self: prepare prepare prepare

yeah, that is the biggest thing--I try to make sure I have things on hand, such as globs of cream cheese, boiled eggs, hard salami, celery soaking in water, etc. those things really help me from giving in to temptation. On the most difficult days, I will go to McD's and get a double cheeseburger--no bun no ketchup and that seems to work.

Have you ever felt like you are drowning in grease? That was me this morning with my eggs and bacon...I felt so greasy and dirty....and craving fruit and oatmeal.

Yes, the grease was hard at first, but it no longer bothers me. However, I miss fruit every single day--that was hands down, the most difficult part of atkins for me. I was not a cookie, cake or ice cream eater--it was the fruit and lots of it. At least now I am at the point where I can have a few blueberries, strawberries and raspberries--yum

Oh thank goodness. I thought I was alone! I sometimes feel like I am bathing in grease. I want to loose weight....and I have been trying since I was 12. Either I am bathing in grease or over doing it with carbs....isn't there a middle of the road?

LOL I hear you--I too, have battled obesity my entire life--my heaviest was 238 on my 5'3" frame. The only plan that I have had success with was this one--all of the other plans were short term and made me feel like garbage. I know you can do it--it really works although I have had many days of discouragement too. Since I joined July 17, it has been members of this board that have gotten me through all of the frustrations. It's nice to do things like this together.

You might feel better if you get the majority of your fats from olive oils, butter, cocunut oil, perhaps grapeseed or sesame oils, I love the grapeseed for things that I don't want to add flavor, and sesame for things that I do want to add the flavor. Your main fats don't have to be animal sources, and they won't seem as 'greasy.'

I dont often eat 'greasy' foods either, as often if you are using fattier cuts of meat you won't need to add any extra.

There is an interesting thread on this forum about how much fat you need to eat.
