| The beef jerky and slim jims sometimes contain sugar. That could be sparking your appetite. I know when I have my 3 servings a day of Splenda even I have the munchies! Good luck! Donna Day 10 of induction 14 lbs lighter! |

| Absolutely great advice here, as usual. I was just going to throw out that when I'm starving like that, there's usually some hidden sugar in something I'm eating. And it's almost like an alcoholics reaction to a trace amount of alcohol - like an allergic reaction that is. Just my 2 cents.. sorry if it doesnt help |

| thank you everyone for all the suggestions. I really appreciate! I think the preparing or stocking up on good eats of protein in advance will be the best way to go. not to worry on the beef jerky...not many at a time and luckily it didn't make me crash...i was just felt hungry all day long on both days...today is a little better. funny thing is i seem to feel more hungry about an hour after eating than i do just before meal time.

| "....funny thing is i seem to feel more hungry about an hour after eating than i do just before meal time. " I'm wondering if you're bunching up your carbs into like one meal? In the book, Dr. Atkins advises not to bunch up the carbs because even though we're eating low-glycemic index veggies, a bunch of them at one time can cause an insulin spike, and ergo a little sugar-crash-craving afterwards. He says to spread out our veggie carbs throughout the day. Glad to hear it's getting better for you. Hang in there. GBM

| I'm new too but this is what has been helping: As mentioned, grill, roast, bake whatever a large amount of meat to have on hand. Today I am grilling a large pack of chicken breasts to use for dinners and to shred in my lunch salad. I also have been cooking up the fauxpotatoes (cauliflower) and faux sweet potatoes (pumpkin) and usually have enough for a few meals. I like to have something warm at dinner and at lunch on the weekends. When I get my kitchen back I will also do the boiled eggs and make some creamy veggie soups to have on hand for lunches as the weather turns colder and salads aren't as appealing. In my lunch salad I put some shredded chicken, a little cheese, avocado, hot banana peppers, olives and whatever other veggies I feel like with a little dressing and maybe a sprinkling of parmesan. It is very filling and satisfying. I also like celery and cream cheese for a snack if I feel a little peckish. Breakfast is generally cheese omelet with a few veggies. Hope that helps. |

| I dunno if this has been said but I always read that if you get hungry to eat a spoonful of cream cheese, because the fat content of the cream cheese will get rid of your hunger....

| i have an ounce of cheese when i get home from work to tie my over while making dinner. when i was having a hypoglycemic attack (on low calorie) i would do the same and it would stabilize my blood sugars and take away the hunger. temporarily but it works. stay away from the processed meats, they are full of nitrates, sugar and sodium. and eat more!! this is not a low calorie diet, it's a yummy, high fat high protein cook your butter in butter diet |
