| EAT MORE MEAT... have a couple boiled eggs handy, make sure your beef jerky is carb free and eat more. Are you eating fat? For me personally fat is what satisfies my hunger. I put butter on my scrambled eggs... or sautee my meat in olive oil... The fat is a critical part of this way of eating... don't be afraid to eat more high protien carb free food... your body will adjust as you lose and you will eat less naturally.. your hunger is being triggered my the changes you are making... Dr Atkins says we definitely do not need to go hungry, as long as ( on induction) you stay at 20gms of carbs a day... YOu will continue to lose. I keep cooked sausages/bacon/ boiled eggs/ chicken breast in containers in the fridge. I eat every three hours... small portions... it works for me Congrats on the good work so far... YOU so close to dropping below 200 YEAH!!!! Good luck Kath |

I completely agree with the above. Whenever I have felt like that I just needed to eat more meat. |

| Thank you both. Yes I will try to eat keep more prepared meat on hand to grab. I think this could be alot of my trouble, with treating it as "meals" that have to be made. I need to get in a routine of getting more food like this on hand and will definately try your suggestion today Kath of eating more frequently and hopefully this will help me out of the hunger!

| Atkins is a high fat diet, not a high protein one. Protein should comprise about 30% of your daily calories. Dr. Atkins wrote that excess dietary protein is converted to sugar which, if not used immediately for energy, is stored as fat!

| Agreed with the others based on my limited experience. Three days ago I bought a cheap piece of beef marked down due to a short date. Had a lot of fat -- probably why it was marked down. I slow-cooked it like a pot roast, but with vinegar and crushed red peppers to make it BBQ-ish. It was well cooked by 4 in the afternoon and I started sampling. And sampling. And sampling. I might have eaten a half pound of it as a snack. (Guilt free! That's the sort of behavior that condemned me on any other type of diet.) I never felt hungry for the rest of the day. I had a salad at dinnertime to get my greens, but that was it. Sweetleaf, I think you're on target about keeping some prepared meat. That's one reason that when I cook, I try to cook a big batch. And there are practical and economic benefits. I'm energy-conscious, so I'd rather turn the oven or stovetop on once for one big batch of food than several times for single meal quantities. I'm price-conscious too, and large packages of meat often have a lower price per pound. I always look for marked down meat with a short date, which requires either cooking or freezing pretty quickly. What I don't expect to eat in a day or two, I'll pack up in meal-sized portions and freeze. I can then quickly turn one of those into a snack with the microwave when I get the munchies. |

| i've been on induction since sunday and i'm almost never hungry anymore. all i eat for breakfast is 2 scrambled eggs with a sprinkle of shredded cheese and 3 sausage links or strips of bacon and i'm full till lunch at least. i'm amazed that i can eat that little and be so full. try having some more meat with your breakfast, that may help. |

| In the mornings here is what I usually do and it seems to fill me right up until lunch. I drink 2 glasses of water then I cook breakfast which is 2 eggs with 1 egg white, and 3 pieces of nitrate free bacon. That keeps me going until lunchtime. |

| Watch out for that beef jerkey. Everyone of the brands in my local grocery store has sugar in it. For me, anything with traces of real sugar in it will crash me out and make me feel really hungry. GBM
