Question More questions, Please help

Hey, it's me again....

I have more questions because this is getting very, very confusing for me...

Can I eat sugar free jello with two tbsp of cream cheese during the induction phase?

I don't like veggies that much (just lettuce) and I'm getting tired of eating meat all the time. Any suggestions?

Can I eat jello at all?

If the jello contains aspartame, then no. Aspartame is not a recommended sweetener during Atkins. I know that a "gelatin dessert" is listed in a sample menu in the book. But that gelatin dessert is described as "made with sucralose topped with whipped cream." Jello is a specific brand of gelatin dessert. The sugar-free version is made with aspartame.

You may make your own sugar free gelatin, using unflavored gelatin, a legal sweetener, and flavorings.

There are over 50 vegetables allowed during Induction phase. If out of over 50 vegetables you only like lettuce, then eat the lettuce. However, I would highly recommend that you at least try the remaining 49 vegetables on that list to see if you do in fact like some of them. Compared to the other vegetables on the Induction list, lettuce has practically no nutrients at all. As one former moderator used to say "lettuce is crunchy water."

I would suggest that you try out other veggies, prepared in different ways. Many of us hate vegetables because we never had them properly cooked. I had an aunt who used to boil broccoli until it was soft and had a weird brownish-green appearance. It was also very bitter. But broccoli steamed until it turns a bright green and is tender but still has some texture is not bitter and is wonderful with butter or Hollandaise sauce.

So try out different veggies. You need them for their nutrients: vitamins, minerals and fiber. Yes, fiber! Because if you don't get fiber in your diet, you might become constipated----which is a bothersome problem.

If you want to stay healthy for the rest of your life, you have to improve your relationship with those vegetables. They are and will be your best friend. I think many find when they start Atkins and they cut out all the crap they have been eating that they will find that vegetables have much to offer. Do it! Try it!!

And why not eat some fish once in a while if you are tired of meat - fish have really good stuff to offer.

Yesterday I had chicken wings. I love them. I either make heroin wings (recipe posted here

or hot wings
