| You can't eat it on induction for several reasons. 1. Dr. Atkins said so. Induction is only 14 days long. 2. 4 or 5 grams per ounce is *high* carb, especially for cheese. During induction especially, the majority of your carbs are to be coming from veggies. If you eat 2 ounces of a fresh cheese, you've just burned up half of your allotted carb allowance and you haven't even licked a celery stick or given your poor digestive track a hint of fiber. Hard cheeses average about 1 gram per ounce. That's why. So in short- Dr. Atkins said 'no', and no..you can't get away with it during induction and call it induction. - It's sorta like how you don't bring a soccer ball to a baseball game and still call it baseball I wish you success! ~Brook

| How about if for one day I skip veggies and eat ricotta instead.... or have half veggies half Ricotta...I mean at the end of the day doesnt it just come to eating 20g of carbs a day so providing i am under that and like i dont mean go and eat a bag of crisps...but i mean ricotta is still cheese....I KNOW Dr Atkins says no but he is dead so what can he do |

| You are right Dr A is dead and can't do anything. YOU have the power. If you want to do the holholhol diet instead of the Dr A diet then you don't even need to ask us what you can and can't eat. But here we follow the 2002. Dr A says 3 cups of veggies a day...non negotiable. Dr A set it up to give us the best chance to lose the most amount we can during induction. If you want to do a half a@@ed job at your 2 weeks induction then by all means feel free...but be aware that you may get half a@@ed results. YOUR choice. But why put yourself through that? Follow the book. Eat your veggies. Drink your water. Move. Take your measurements. Yeesh..all you should need to do is look at Brook's pics to want to do it by the book! Now that being said when I got to the dairy rung I actually tried ricotta cheese for the first time in my life. Very good stuff! Good luck! I wish you success on your journey. We may sound strict and tough here but we are all coming from a helping place and only want the best for you.

| probably someone did somewhere along the line and still lost weight...and some didn't...but would they have lost more..every BODY is different. Induction is important and for best results should be followed by the book. Induction is also great for breaking our food addictions. Sounds like to me you should take a break from the ricotta anyway....LOL! Follow the book and climb the rungs. Ricotta will always be there but your golden chance to do induction right the first time won't be. You are worth 2 weeks of following the book.
