Default Bummed Out...

So today was day 8 for me..I was doing GREAT until my sister decided to take my daugther out for ice cream and I tagged along...well it was all downhill from there because I gave in and ate ice cream and then was so upset I ate some combos after!!! I am so mad at myself I told myself this time was going to be different. I guess the only thing I can do is move past this and just remember how I felt after cheating so that I do not let it happen again. I think I am also going to start going back to the gym again tomorrow. I wanted to wait until I lost weight first because I was embarrassed of how I looked but I just have to get over it...a lot of people at the gym need to get in shape they aren't all ripped..right?! Okay just had to vent so that I can pick myself up tomorrow morning and get on with this WOE. This stinks though, i just feel awful!!!!

Just start over again tomorrow Robey. Drink LOTS of water and exercise and don't beat yourself up. It happens. Learn from it and carry on. It is difficult to be in the position of having to resist when others are digging in around you especially through induction. Try not to be near the feeding frenzy if you can. Eventually the desire for these things will get less and less for you. Hang in there and good luck!

Thumbs up Re: Bummed Out...

Hi Robbey,
That's exactly what you do too hon, Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep moving forward! I think that's a great idea to go to the gym tomorrow and get started on the new you.
It takes time to make lifestyle changes. One day at a time. Heck sometimes 1 hour at a time and even just one minute at a time. As long as you continue to move forward you'll get to your destination of a healthier, fitter you.
Just remember, this isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle. It's a learning journey. You just learned something about yourself today that you don't want to repeat. So mark it up as a lesson learned and move on. Don't beat yourself up about it. Do something about it!
Planning is everything in this lifestyle. Plan, plan, plan, Don't set yourself up for pitfalls. Prepare Atkins friendly snacks that are available to you at all times. Take those snacks with you so you can enjoy them when others are enjoying their snacks of choice. Let Atkins be your choice, the healthiest choice there is. Not only will you lose weight on Atkins but you will also get healthy internally.Just as important as losing weight.
Hang in there sweetie. What's important is that you recognize what you did and know what to do do correct it.
Drink plenty of water to flush your system of toxins and make sure the next thing that goes into your mouth is Atkins friendly. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! I'm pulling for you!
Sincerely, Sherri

Thanks for your support guys I really appreciate all the kind words..it was just what I needed!! I have been drinking 100 plus ounces of water daily but I'll try and drink even more over the next 24 hours to flush everything out. I can't wait to get started again tomorrow. I wish someone I knew in "real life" was doing this with me but is sure a relief to have this board to fall back on.
