| I've read of a few people eating Shirataki noodles while on induction. I think it's the taste that scare some people away... lol

| AHHH! Of course, if it tastes good spit it out sort of thing!! Ha! Figures. Oh well. Had to ask. If it tastes gross why bother, besides they are really expensive. |

| I tried these.. the taste is not bad.. it actually took on the flavor of the food I was fixing. It was the texture that we didn't like. It was like eating squid sort of rubbery. NOT the texture we were looking for. I found them at the local asian market for 2.19 a bag. Also.. the black ones on the site are not black but grey/brown.. they have seaweed in them. I got a bag of both and after the white ones we didnt like I gave away the second bag. There is another kind that has added tofu in it to make it more pasta like. I have not tried those yet. Michelle

| I actually love shiritake noodles. They're really quick and easy, if you boil them in salt water, you don't have the taste that people talk about. Of course, I never really noticed it - maybe because I grew up eating tofu? Not sure. Anyway, I either pan fry these with some butter and garlic, or brown the butter in the oven, then add garlic, and noodles and cook until it's all delicious. I also used to use them on the bottom of a pie pan to create a shiritake noodle pizza, which was fantastic, and completely legal, compared to the cauliflower pizza. I don't like red sauce, but I think I've tried them, and it's true, it wasn't the same kind of experience as spaghetti.

| Lyssie, What do you mean compared to the cauliflower pizza. Is that not legal? I was under the impression that it was legal for induction. Sorry for the tangent |

| ummm... Cauliflower Pizza has 1c (8 oz) cheese in the crust, and I end up using almost another cup with toppings... Sooo.. unless I only eat 1/4 of the pizza and no other cheese that day, it's not legal for me. So yeah, it is legal, sorry, I just meant it's easier to not go over limits with it vs. the pizza.

| I've had them - bbut only once I got to the Legumes rung. many have soy in them and that is not permitted on induction. They have stalled some people out. They are OK. The taste is fine the texture is too rubbery and crunchy. Like really tough jicama. I ate them and decided I wasn't missing noddles - it was a mental thing.

| Erm, there's something in the book about vegetarians and tofu and induction... I am trying to find it though.. shiritake noodles should just be tofu in a different form.
