| They can stall or slow your loss. Induction is only eating things off the acceptable list. THere are many threads/posts about the bars and shakes and people's experiences with stalling after eating them.

| Like Lyssie said, they've been known to stall weight loss. When I started this WOE I went down and bought a BUNCH of bars and shakes... then came on this website and found out the rough news! So I took them all back and bought more stuff for me with the store credit lol. I will probably buy them during maintenence (whenever that is lol) |

| Pure evil. Last time I was on Atkins, it didnt matter which phase, I stalled, got headaches, and in the end only craved more sweets. Even though everyone has different mindsets and bodies, etc, just thought I would put that out there. I know on Lindas locarb site she talks about how much they helped her, and how she cut them into like 20 pieces or something and put them in the freezer for when she needed something. (I think that is how it went..yikes) Anyway, good luck and have fun!! Sam |

| I'm on induction and have had the bars and shakes since day one. I haven't stalled or anything cause I'm losing a good amount of weight but I do get really bad headaches and end up craving more sweets I just control myself of course. I figure something sweet is better than nothing. But keep in mind its only one a day usually at night. If u can just hold off on that stuff its better to keep it safe than sorry. I'm trying to anyway. So good luck |

| Than you so much for all of your input. I am definitely going to stay away....I think I am just always looking for options just in case. I am doing okay without the sweets, and surprisingly have not had a problem with cravings yet. However, because I want to do an extended induction, I know it will be a challenge. Thanks again!!!!

| Hello! While I just swallowed a vanilla shake myself. I have had a conviction about these shakes. I do think they cause a stall. I have been drinking them...... Been under 20g carbs a day. I do about 35 mins of cardio a day. Last week just 3 days. I use a heart rate monitor so I can tell if i'm working out too hard or not. I work out at the 80-90% mark. Can't help it. When your 250 lbs you don't have to run much.....lol. I say that to say this. I have only lost roughly 5-8 lbs in the 2 weeks of re-induction and to be honest I think it's got alot to do with the shakes. Also when I was on the diet hardcore about a year ago. I would eat the bars and shakes and would actually gain weight. I always suspected it was the bars. The drinks have Maltodextrin and the bars had Maltitol in them. From what I understand they both turn into carbs. I'm not a chemist that's just what I have read here and there. |

| Thank you for your feedback.....and stop drinking the shakes! LOL! I want to succeed so badly, but it's so much more fun to succeed when those around you do as well. In terms of your running comment, something I read that seems to stick with me is...."the faster you run the more weight you lose, and the more weight you lose the faster you will run!" It kind of keeps me going... best of luck to you!!! Quote:

| If you read some older posts you will see that the shakes and bars are sometimes referred to as Frankenfoods on this board. Very artificial food put together to resemble real but is not quite there. Whole foods seem to work so much better for most of us. I have a bar and shake around for absolute emergencies but do not use them. Great to meet some other runners. It has become a passion of mine.
