Sore Throat, Sugar Free Halls I hope it don't mess me up

Hi Everyone

FluffyGirl is still doing really well. I am sick right now and my throat is killing me. I have been sucking on sugar free halls brezers because if my throat gets dry it really kills. I have been drinking so much water it makes me sick.

I am worried that these sugar free cough drops and breezers are going to kick me out of keytosis but I can't let my throat go dry, and I can only drink so much tea and water.


Suggestions??

Sugar free halls contain sugar alcohols. Personally they do not kick me out of ketosis but different people react differently to them.

I was sick about a month ago and used the SF halls and a generic version. I don't test for ketosis but I didn't loose that week. But I figure it was a huge accomplishment to not eat crackers, pretzels or other high carb things while I was sick like I used to. I didn't gain, they definately stalled me out a little - but i needed them, my throat was so raw!

I have eaten at least 2 bags trying to keep my throat wet. I know I won't be loosing a pound this week. Getting sick is really messing me up. I have been getting all my water in and i'm very proud about that.

My mother used to make me gargle with salt water when i was young and had a sore throat. It always worked, and my throat felt better then next day.

Thanks CeeMarie, I have been gargling with salt water and it really doesn't help strep throat and it does nothing for super dry throat. It only soothes for the time your doing it.

I think i'm going to continue with the halls sugar free until my throat is better cause I don't see how anything else will help much especially at school.
