Default grrrrr

Well Im on day 5 of induction and going strong.. so went and got my ketostix this morning (after jumping on my digi scales and it not having moved an inch), so telling myself not to get down.. I got them and tested and I'm not in ketosis.. it looks like I'm on the brink of a little colour but nothing.

So back to the book and to see where I've gone wrong.. I really thought I was counting everything to the letter. The only thing I can think of is maybe the cream in my coffee.. although I accounted 0.8 for each cup... maybe I just had to much veg last night.. hmmmm

Anyway.. still staying strong.. and making a batch of chicken wings with butter and garlic for lunch and on 4pint of water.

plus bought the dirty dancing workout dvd. gona give it a bash this afternoon. hopefully that will help kick me into it.

Sorry to hear you haven't lost any weight yet but hang in there because it will happen.

The problem could be water retention, especially if it's that TOM or maybe you are just eating too many salty foods so check for that. I know I love hot dogs but can't eat them very often. Exercise will definitely help so good luck with the video you bought.

Keep us posted and please don't give up because you can do it.

I'm right there with you. It has been exactly one week now and nothing. The sticks show that I'm in the middle of ketosis - and it seems like maybe I've lost a pound - but I'm not sure because my scale today showed three different weights (all around my starting weight).

I understand how completely and utterly frustrating it is - BUT - I know I refuse to give up. I feel great and this plan is SO much easier than having to count calories and worry about counting fat too.

Also - I know that today TOM is here for me - so I can guarantee that's why my scale isn't showing anything.

I exercised sunday, monday, wednesday & thursday (about 20 minutes each) - but next week I am committing myself (even with TOM...) to do 4 x at 30 minutes (at least)...

But even though I know I haven't ever done atkins before, I know I'm NOT giving up. 1 week is NOT enough time to give it to really see any change. I know I see other's who've lost 10 - 15 pounds in 1 week and then there ARE others who've only lost 2 pounds.

I refuse to give up mainly because I'm thrilled that I'm getting all this sugar and junk out of my body!!!

Not seeing pink on those sticks does not mean that that you are not in ketosis. The pink that you mesure in the urine is expelled ketones - you may just be using your ketones and that is just fine. Not everyone on Atkins will see changes on those sticks. And even a little pink is a sign of ketosis. If you ever find that you have expelled a lot of ketones and those sticks are very dark you probably are not drinking enough water.

IM IN KETOSIS.. well the stix are now light pink.. I did some of my dirty dancing exercise video (I looked quite the prat) but it was great.. and I'm there.

PS - Kerrianne.. I think I may be near TOM too, plus I read a really inspirational story on here of a woman whose scales never moved but she went from a size 22 to size 16... so I'm with you.. LETS KEEP FAITHFUL AND DO IT

so how was the dirty dancing dvd? I was looking at it the other day, but I picked up Bob's Weight Loss Yoga (The Biggest Loser) DVD instead...which I did the first 20 minute session of tonight (there's three 20 minute sessions...and i did the 'easy' one) and for someone who has NO flexibility (seriously I can't touch my toes whatsoever) I really liked it!

But what about the DD one? is it easy?

Hiya
The DD dvd was better than I thought.. Definately will keep me interested for a while and I think its one of those that the better you get, the better the dvd becomes. iykwim.. I got it for a 5(fiver) due to sales.. so you can't go wrong there either. You don't need another person (which the cover made it look like) but you can if you wanted to with some moves. Its also nice cause it keeps you focused otherwise you end up all over the place. I must say I got the strangest look from my 2month old.. poor thing.. she probably wondered what family she had got herself born into .. hee hee.
Well, I've been in ketosis since yesterday and I can taste my breathe is funny even though I've been drinking at least 10pints of water.. but my scale still didn't move this morning.. Lets hope its TOM
