| Each person reacts differently to a change in their eating habits. Early on, I found I had more energy although lately I too have found myself dozing off in the evening when I'm not active enough. You might want to take a multi-vitamin if you aren't already to ensure you are getting nutrients you might be lacking. You should also aim for a minimum of 64 ounces of water since water helps keep the metabolism moving which in turn keeps the body energized. Exercise can boost your energy levels throughout the day too. Finally, the body rejuvenates during sleep so getting a minimum of 7-8 hours a night is beneficial to your weight loss efforts. It may be that you really are tired and the change in your diet has actually allowed your brain to recognize the signal of your overworked system. If nothing fits, a visit to the doctor may at least keep you from worrying that it's anything more serious. Good luck (and sweet dreams)!

| I had the same thing during my induction and actually it lasted about 6 weeks. In adition to the things that Eric mentioned -I encourage you to consider a food sensitivity. For me I found out it was tomatoes. Which sort of makes sense since they are technically fruits even though we are allowed them on induction and they are from the nightshade family. I found that when i ate tomatoes I was dreadfully sleepy - like drugged and lethargic, fall asleep behind the wheel sleepy. I gave them up and slowly regained my energy. I was able to re-integrate them down the road and now I can eat about 3-4oz(raw) per day without a problem. But for awhile I couldn't tolerate them at all. It's likely you are reacting to something in your diet. Induction is very much a detox and elimination diet. Working OWL is so important b/c it will teach you about your body. HTH - you aren't alone! Wow, I read this post because I have been feeling the same way, so sleepy lately, I'm on day 13 of induction...I have been eating a lot of tomatos, almost every single day in my salads, so that was an eye opener, so to speak! |
