| Hello.. Well..you are in Ketosis as long as you are on Atkins..so yes.. it is safe to be in Ketosis.. When we stop eating carbohydrates, our bodies start to eat fat! yet, fat as every energy deposit, needs to be broken down to glucose.. think fat as a dollar and glucose as a dime.. our bodies have only dime slots..so you need to make change when the fat breaks down..there are by products..waste produced.. this by product is ketones.. ketones are excreted by braith (only marginal amounts) and by urines..one of the main waste disposal mechanisms! So ketosis is the process of breaking down fat into glucose, which generates ketones! |

| You always have some ketones in your body, it is a natural process. You can be in ketosis for as long as you want.
