| If you are hungry then eat something 'legal' ![]() Most people find their appetite dimishes after a week or so on induction so till then just keep to the rules - eat when hungry and till not hungry without stuffing yourself and your body will eventually settle down. Make sure you have plenty of 'legal' snacks available so you are not tempted to grab something off-plan when the hungries strike. I weigh first thing after going to the loo and naked, but look on the scales numbers as being an interesting statistic rather than allowing it to influence how I feel about Atkins. By weighing each day I have learned that my weight goes up and down thoroughout the day as well as throughout the week, and that as long as it is not going up continuously I have nothing to worry about. However I see many people who get upset and tempted to give up by seeing the normal daily ups and downs, so if you are one of these try not to be too dependant on daily weighing. Better to not weigh till the 15th day of induction and see what has happened then be tricked into thinking Atkins is not working by daily fluctuations. I think you might be female (chicka is a feminine name I think) and if so then you need to be aware that we women also have weight fluctuations caused by our monthly cycle. So ignore the scale around that time of the month Always come here and post/vent/cry if you feel the need - there is usually someone online any time of day who can understand what you are going through ![]() And join in on threads where people that you feel a bond with are posting, and before long you will have many buddies to interact with. You can even start a journal in the Journal Chats forum where others can 'visit' with you and you can make more friends to help and encourage you along your Atkins journey

| Elizellen hit it right on the head…especially to post here often. There are a lot of people on this board who went through the same feelings and struggles that you are experiencing and have succeeded on Atkins.

| If you want a buddy, I'm game. My mini-goal is also 220, and I need some accountability as well. |

| Hi, I'm in my 10th day of induction and just after the 7 day I started to feel great, I don't think about food that much anymore and I'm starting to enjoy my viggie, which is great considering I don't eat them before. Truely, I cut back many thing day by day, less Splenda, Cream, Ham and start eating more natural sources, and I think that kind help as well. I go to the scale everyday, w/no close on and after bathroom and I see the same thing as you and as per Elizellen told you, but I knew that my weithg will go up and down, so I don't paid too much atention ...for me what counts is my "mini goal" and I'm getting there, slowly but eating all kind of thing I like, and getting rid of the things I know I should avoid now and the rest of my life. Keep it up!!!! Maybe you could encorage me in the feauture... LOL, Sarah Sorry x my English, I'm from Spain.. |

| I weight myself in the morning naked before I shower. But only every few days or I would over think the number. Stay focused and the weight will come off
