| You are doing it completely wrong. Just a few observations, though I am sure I'm missing things: 1) In induction, you are not allowed to have more than 4 oz per day. 2) Veggies should be kept at 3 cups per day. 3) Atkins is a high-fat diet, not a high-protein one. You should aim for about 65% fat, 5% carbs if you are in induction. Read the book! It's really cheap and it will help you a lot! There is also important information on the board... usually concentrated in "sticky threads". Here are some you should read: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-approach.html (BEFORE you begin the Atkins Nutritional Approach...) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What are the Rules of Induction?) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ood-links.html http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-need-eat.html (How much fat do I need to eat?) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...75-fitday.html (Fitday!)

| Im on day 4 of induction. I am drinking my water, eating 20grams of carbs or less, and today started exercising....30 min. on treadmill. The problem, I getting headache and right after I eat, Im hungry again. I have high blood pressure, diabetes. I am 57 y.o 257lbs and 5'3" tall. I love breads, pasta, sweets but for the past 4 days, have manage to stay away. The only thing closely resembling something sweet is sugar free jello, which I sometime have for snacks. Im picky with my veggies so most of the time it is either a salad or green beans. Open for suggestions. How long will the headache and hunger last. What can I do to ease the pain. Right now Im taking 500 mg. of tylenol 2 times a day trying to ease the pain. I could really use some advice. |

| The reason why you are hungry is that you are not eating enough fat. Fat is supposed to keep us full *and* it will help you get into ketosis. Sugar free jello is sweetened with aspartame. Aspartame is not one of the sweeteners allowed on Atkins. It is known to cause cravings and to stall people. Besides, there are many health concerns about it. The headache is probably due to induction flu. It should go away in 1-2 days. Other than that, buy the book and read it, and read the sticky threads I linked you to in the other thread: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ml#post1011157 (Alright, Alright, Induction is Induction... doing it right.)

| Hi did not want to confuse anybody so I moved all the threads together. Georgiana is right on. Time to review the rules and make some adjustments. Drink tons of water, add veggies, cut down on cheese.

| Hi Lady V, your off to a great start but just a little tweeking. Keep the cheese level down to 3 ish ounces and as far as veggies go, what about some salas on the eggs in the morning, hide some in cassaroles and soups, Taco salad works as does tuna salad (with a little celery) Try new veggies. Jicama tastes like a watery apple just not so sweet. You'll get it, and you'll feel so much better soon |
