Thanks Budderfly and good on you for not quitting. That induction flu can be a pain in the bum, but you will start to feel so good afterwards. To be honest I'm not sure about the bloating and glands... as I've never heard of that.. (maybe one of the oldies on here can give a better explanation), it could be part and parcel of your body getting rid of all the toxins, but if anything persists, maybe just get it checked by your doctor. Is it better now, gone down or still there? As for the ketostix.. not all people even register a colour or get to the dark bit, but if you did register pink and then went out, it could either mean you ate something hidden and naughty (double check your foods), or maybe you drank a lot of water and where very hydrated. - I realised my mayo had hidden starch.. so sometimes it can be something small. I wouldn't worry to much about that though.. as long as you are keeping to the plan.. you should start noticing a big difference soon. just make sure you take measurements as i normally didn't and this time I did, which was lucky as when the scale wasn't moving, I was loosing inches. Good luck x |

| thanks tumtum, i did eat alot of mayo yesterday (is it ok to slop it on or should i measure it?) i walk 2miles a day and i do drink alot of water so i'm trying not to get disheartened by the ketostick showing as 'trace' - my face is a little swollen and i have a headache, maybe its the onset of a cold? i have no idea. i'm very thrisy eventhough i drink constantly! just wondering if green tea is a good option on top of my water consumption (nice to get a hot cuppa on a cold day instead of water) also, sugarfree gum? how does that fair with atkins? i like to freshen my breath by chewing gum during the day. i haven't stepped on the scales as i have become obsessed in the past - i'm going to play it by ear and judge my success by the way my clothing fits - one of the suggestions made in the book. also i have 10-15lbs to lose, will it be slow loss for me on induction or do you think the 14day induction plan will help shift the bulk of it before i move on to long term maintainance? so many questions!! i'm sorry! as a newbie i'm very anxious to know i'm doing it right |

Hiya Budderfly.. don't worry about the questions.. thats why these boards are so fab. The best link i can give you is on my blog (taken straight from the Atkins book) listing all the foods you can have on induction (chewing gum and tea is mentioned.. along with mayo), if you save it on your computer then you can always check on it during the day... The link is below.. click on it and go into induction - acceptable foods on the right. Hope thats more help Wow.. 2miles a day.. thats fab.. I need to get myself up and about.. as for a cold.. I wouldn't be surprised it seems like everybody has it these days. As for how much you have to loose, its not that much, so I would presume you may go slower.. BUT.. its hard to say as everyone is sooo different. You normally get the most weightloss in INduction and then it slows a little after that. xx |

As tumtum said, don't ever feel you should not be asking questions if you are not sure about some aspect of your new way of eating (WOE). That is one of the reasons this ADBB community exists
