| Strictly speaking, yes if you have more than the total 3 cups of veg on induction you are eating more than the induction rules say ![]() But to get mroe carbs from these 3 cups yuo need to choose different veggies, as oyu have realised, as lettuce will not amount to more than a few net carbs. By choosing lowest carb veggies from the list of 50 plus options you are cheating your body out of the carbs it could be eating. Dr Atkins told us to get 'most' of our carbs from our veggies on induction, with things like cheese, eggs, cream, sweeteners taking up the remaining carbs up to 20 net carbs. If you are only eating 1 or 2 net carbs of veggies you really need to be eating less than that number of all the other things with carbs in them. So realistically you can only have maybe one sweetener or one ounce of cheese or one egg!! So try choosing other veggies for these 2 weeks then move to OWL rung one and add 5 net carbs of lettuce if you like, which is a HUGE salad of about 13 cups!! For induction particularly 'Salad veg' does not equal just lettuce ![]() In our semi-annual veg challenge we challenge participants to get 12-15 net carbs from their veggies (17-20 if on OWL or maintenance) and many of them do ![]() Look in the semi-annual challenges forum for the threads for that challenge and see how they did it.

| This is the list of the salad veggies you can have, so you can make a dynamite salad with lots of add-ins, or forego lettuce altogether. ( I love it, so I have it a lot, but some folks get to where they can't look at another piece of lettuce for a while) Or add some of those things to your eggs in the morning. I have a special relationship with bell pepper. Jicama is a great snack too! I have no idea what "moche" is however..... Good luck! Vegetables You can have two to three cups per day of: alfalfa sprouts daikon mushrooms arugula endive parsley bok choy escarole peppers celery fennel radicchio chicory jicama radishes chives lettuce romaine lettuce cucumber moche sorrel These salad vegetables are high in phytonutrients and provide a good source of fiber.
