| Um. It was only an hour from your first post. Not all of us live here. :P Anyway, what do you think is "as much water as I can without getting sick"? I am pretty sure it's not "just because you're in ketosis". There is the fact that you could be drinking *too much* water, but that usually only happens if you're drinking a huge amount. Everyone has their own limits, mine is over 200oz, which isn't that easy to reach unless you're trying. |

| Sweet, I've experienced that in earlier attempts of Atkins and what helped me was eating very small salads to get the water out of the lettuce. I drink 8 bottles 16.9 oz and also drink sugar-free kool aide, tropical punch. It is delicious, satisfies my sweet tooth, and just augments your water intake. Just a thought. I've just begun Atkins for the first time in many years, so I have experience but I am not one of the moderators or supporting members. I'd be glad to correspond with you as right now I have just gotten into ketosis earlier this week. Freethinker5

| Thanks for the replies. I am drinking strictly water about 100 ounces a day. Maybe 115. Its just like a constant thirst, and is not fun |

| That's not enough to make you even close to sick or cause any adverse effects... unless you weigh something like, 100lbs (or have an underlying medical condition). I don't know since you don't post stats. If you think that you are drinking too much, then try sipping, or putting ice cubes in your water to slow you down. People should be drinking *minimum* of 64oz plus more for every pound you want to lose. However, if you have extreme workouts, and/or are extremely overweight, it's possible that you're actually not drinking enough for what you're doing.

| Someone else posted the extreme thirst symptoms not long ago. It turned out she was eating a lot of bacon and a lot of salt. Try cutting way back on the salt, and if you are still that thirsty, you probably need to see a doctor. |

| Okay so I realized that I am eating 2 pieces of bacon a day on my salad. But I never had that problem before. Another thing is that no matter how much water I drink I am still in the darkest level of ketosis. This all happened literally within the last few days (the thirst). So I am not going to worry a doctor, since I know it has something to do with Atkins. Since I had no problems with thirst before the diet. |
