| If you count net carbs, a cup of raw eggplant only has 1.9 carbs. It is net carbs you should be counting. You must count your carbs in order to know how many you should be eating once you move to OWL (add 5g to what you have been eating in induction). Whether you prefer to do this in Fitday, in DailyPlate, in NutritionData or on paper, it's up to you.

If you are in any phase of OWL, your challenge is to eat a minimum of 17 NET carbs of veggies each day during the challenge. If you are on Maintenance, your challenge is to eat a minimum of 22 NET carbs of veggies each day during the challenge. |

| So I should customize every food I add rather than leaving it up to the previously entered food the program picks up? For example I made stuffed peppers yesterday and it told me 1 medium green bell pepper was like 5.5 g of carbs ( it doesn't seem to grasp the concept of net carbs). Technology is great but really jacks sh*t up! |

| Well, you add all your foods in Fitday, and then you do the math yourself. Fitday shows the total carbs and the fiber (in the summary you see on the main page, where all your foods are listed), so you just subtract the two to figure out how much you ate that day. BTW, it's the same thing when you read nutritional labels in the US.

| It never dawned on me to do that even though I do it when I read labels. Thanks! Light dawns on marble head! |

| I won't use fitday because of having to do all the extra stuff with it. I just prefer to write out what I eat and only eat it based on net carbs. I won't buy anythign that doesn't show sugar carbs in it. Fitday never worked for me or I just got to frustrated with it. Ever after the net carbs it still doesn't come out correctly.

| What do you mean it doesn't come out correctly? I never had problems with it.

| Every time I went on Atkins the only records that showed me how much of what to eat was fitday. For 1 month back on Atkins I finally got within my ranges of 65/30/5 percent. If I don't have enough salad or veggies fitday tells me. Before, when I had questions on how much of anything, fitday helped me make my menu and showed me where my percentages should be. Keep walking. |
