Unhappy First Day - Need Help!!!

I started Atkins today, have read the different forums and faq's and book so I thought I knew what to do but have some big concerns. I have over 100lbs to lose and feel like I am eating way too much. I eat until I am comfortable, not overstuffed or anything. I am wondering if it's okay to eat alot as long as you follow the rules? I don't want to fail at this but don't want to be starving either. It's not even dinner time and I have had way too many carbs I figure. Please offer suggestions, this is what I have had so far.
B- bell pepper/onion veggie quiche (half a 9" pie tin)
S- 1 stick of string cheese and 20 small black olives
L- 1/2 bag steamed mashed cauliflower (just had butter and seasoning0
saurkraut (1 1/2 cup) and some slices of Kielbasa
S- Celery (maybe 2 stalks) with Cream cheese spread (2 T maybe)
17 pepperoni slices

I think I may get scolded (bad on pepperoni and olives?) For dinner I was going to have a taco salad (lettuce, sour cream, salsa, cheese) that's going to put me over the carb limit, unless I am counting wrong, it seems like I may have had 18 already. Help!!!

I completely agree with this. There is no reason for anyone to starve in order to lose weight. As for the rules... I'm afraid you might be a little wrong here. One of the rules of induction says you should be eating three cups of veggies a day -- 2 cups of salad veggies and 1 cup of veggies from the "other veggies" list. The lists are here:
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)
You have eaten way more than three cups.

Also, make sure you keep your cheese within the maximum amount allowed during induction -- 4 oz.

Some people are stalled by olives or pepperoni, because they have a lot of sodium. If the book says you can eat 20 olives, it does not mean you have to eat 20. Same thing about the other foods in the "Special Foods" category. Check that the pepperoni does not contain dextrose or other form of sugar, or nitrates.

Either read the induction chapter again from the book, or take a look at these links:

Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!"

Ditto to what Georgiana said, but...this is your FIRST day. When I went through Induction I felt that I was eating ALL the time the first two or three days. Your appetite WILL decrease. Read the links Georgiana provided. It sounds like you're on the right track. It's a very good thing that you're asking questions. Most of us did not do a perfect Atkins right out of the gate. This board is a great source of knowledge, motivation, support, and encouragement .

Kudos to you! You can do this!
