| Why the egg whites??? Remember you must eat breakfast. MUST MUST MUST MUST. Dr Atkins talks about starvation mode and it's in the FAQ section if you want to read it. But what happens when you skip a meal is that you body doen't want to release any fat cause it thinks your starving, something like that. Cream is limited , and your eating way to many sweets. Try to cut them out as your feeding your sweet tooth. Also, you should try to spread you veggies out over the day, salsa on your eggs, using lettuce to wrap with, small sides at dinner. Saying all that, its very common to hesitate and not lose for a week or so. Your body is still adjusting to the WOE |

This board is more valuable than the book because it's live and up-to-date. I really thought this would be simple but carb-creep got me! Think I was eating jello trying to beat the craving before they came. Was dumb. Then I ate more of it thinking it was allowed, I was probably just hungry. Veggies: thought it was only salad... I can have tomatoes?? Funny you mention lettuce wrap, the best meal I've had so far was lettuce tacos. Made me wonder why everyone doesn't eat them that way! |

| The book is handy for looking stuff up like the list of allowed vegetables There are two lists of about 54 options, choose 2 cups from the first list (called salad vegetables) and one from the second list (called other vegetables) to make the most of your carbs. Remember of our 'up to 20 net carbs' we are supposed to get 'most' from our veggies, so limiting yourself to lettuce means you should be limiting your eggs, cheese, cream and sweeteners So choose veggies which give you 10 or more net carbs to allow you to have 6-8 carbs from other sources. And use all of the egg as the yolk contains most of the nutritious stuff!

| You're doing better now. Still need to get with the rules. *Do not skip breakfast under any circumstance *Ditch the almonds for now - have something legal for snack (deviled eggs - leftover bacon) *Don't put kool aid in your water - it does not count as water if you do. You are probably eating too much sweetener - kool aid and cheesecake so think about that. *Eat your veggies.

| Also, you need to hold off on the almonds until you get to the nut rung on OWL. Quote:
Do check out the induction friendly recipes. They are lifesavers and keep you from getting bored and craving something "good." I made a legal breakfast taco this morning that was awesome, complete with avocado, lettuce, cheese, taco meat (leftover homemade), salsa and sour cream. |
