| Based upon what I can tell and know... The FAT is missing. Atkins is not low fat and that is basically what your menu looks like. Also do you feel satisfied? Do you feel you are eating enough? I know with the yeast you avoid cheese and things like that but I believe you still need the fat so try fried chicken instead of grilled chicken... also maybe eat your eggs fried in extra virgin olive oil, or add a little mayo and have deviled eggs. What did your menu look like before doing Feb? Keep in mind only a total of 3 cups of veggies... 2 salad and 1 other like green beans... I'm not sure the portions sizes of your veggies but you maybe getting to many carbs from there. I'm new at this as well, so hopefully some of the old-timers will chime in. ~Amanda |

| Is there are a reason why you aren't eating fat? If you are only eating the above without the fat, your body might be in "starvation mode" and hoarding every calorie you eat.

| I'm not really avoiding fat - just trying to be extra careful how I cook things, in order not to introduce 'banned' items. It's been hard finding things that I'm allowed, in order to kind of copy what I had been doing. I miss my ranch dressing SO much! Before Feb, I'd have eggs (usually boiled, cause it's easy to grab and go) and bacon for breakfast. Bacon and sausage are now out, so I'm kinda floundering on what else to have. Lunches used to be tuna salads/chicken salads, left over meats from the night before with salad (I end up opting for the spinach salad, to increase the nutrients). Dinners - some sort of meat, some sort of vegetable, some salad. Maybe I AM doing too much on the salads/vegetables. I'll start measuring it again. The biggest difference, I guess, is the water only. I have been boiling mint leaves in water to add to my water. Could that be doing it? I do feel satisfied. Maybe I need to eat more?

| You are not eating enough plain and simple- fat is way to low as well. I am taking Yeast Defense and a good probiotic. I was on heavy antibiotics last summer during my surgery and discovered that I have a yeast problem as well. However I am not going on the KISS diet. I feel mine was caused by antibiotics that I took for a few months and then fueled by eating poorly whiile I was off plan. I also started cooking some of my items with coconut oil. I just found out from a friend that there is a flavorless oil available as well. I have read that some members are simply swallowing a few TBSP of this daily to help combat yeast. It doesn't taste bad. I have tried it. Good luck, Julie |

| Where do you find the probiotic and yeast defense? Is it in Walmart, or do I need to go to a health food store? I really don't know if there is a health food store here! We have a GNC, does that count?

| I'm glad your problem seems fixable and rather quickly.... did you check out this link? http://www.angelfire.com/rnb/irock/kiss_foods.html It does mention that many "kissers" have been successful using butter and mayo. So this is something you will problably want to add back. I know you said you had alot of the symptoms of yeast... but how come did you decide to switch if you were loosing weight on Atkins? What I can tell is the "yeast" part of the diet is for those who don't feel good on Atkins and is not loosing weight ( I could be wrong, but based upon what I have read quickly from the links under the Yeast section on this board. Also the link I gave you advised that once you go that far it is hard to go back ... so use as last resort. I would maybe go back to how you were eating and add some probotics ect. |

| Mushrooms are not a great thing to eat when fighting candida. The mushrooms aren't the answer to your question, just noticed and I recall from when I did the 'anti candida regime' that mushrooms aren't allowed. It is pretty likely there is a health food store in your area, look in the yellow pages. They tend to be in out of the way corners! I agree, you need more fats. Best wishes to you!

| ^The symptoms that I am having with the yeast are pretty severe. Dizziness is the worst - I always feel like I have just gotten off of a roller coaster. I had all kinds of medical tests, that didn't show anything. Lately, I've started breaking out with what looks like small ring-worms. Add to that the infections on my nails, etc - I was at a point that I was willing to try ANYTHING to make these symptoms go away!! I'm not looking at the candida diet as a way to lose weight faster, just trying to get my body back healthy, you know? I'll try adding back the mayo and butter - I'm also going to spend some time on that link that you gave. Thank you SO much! I went today and got the Oil of Oregano, Apple Cider Vinegar capsules, Garlic oil caps and acidophilius (I read on the Candida thread that these might be useful) Do you think that - just adding the vitamins - I'd be able to go back to the Atkins? I really, really miss my ranch dressing!!

| momtomany1- I seem to have posted as you posted. I didn't even think of the mushrooms!! Aaaarrrgh! I've really got to just pour over that site, and make a list of the things that are legal. I've gotten so scared about eating anything off the list. Ugh.
