Why would you want to. Actually I googled Donna meat and it looked like a recipe using ground beef. Sure the UK folks will be able to help

Doner kebabs in UK are what they call 'gyro' in USA I think.

Traditional recipes are OK as they are basically ground meat with spices, but you will need to find out from the outlet you buy them what ingredients are in the one they use.

I would avoid them unless you can make sure they dont contain any 'illegal' fillers like rusk/grains etc which are often used in UK to bulk up things like sausages.

Umm... I suppose you mean döner meat, like in kebab. That one yes, you can eat.

Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!"

I can see the appeal. You're out with your mates on a Saturday night. You've been good and not had anything alcoholic to drink - only had water or fizzy water.... but it's that time when everyone is stopping by the chippy for food and the smells are driving you mad and your stomach rumbles and hurts. You look at your watch. UH-OH, it's been over 6 hours since you last ate and yes, you were awake for all 6 of those hours. Now what?

Ohhh... look there at that fish supper. Oops. Nope. No good. Sausage or Haggis supper... yeck! Hey, is that donner meat? Wonder if I can have just a wee bit of that without totally messing up. Oh wait. I've got some bacon with cream cheese in my bag. (checks bag - it's totally nasty by this time - no go.) ... boyfriend emerges with chips and cheese. Friends emerge with fried something else, you're not sure but the smell at this point has you drooling... must have food... must have food. You search franticly for ANY shop that might be open that would have ANYTHING you could possibly eat without messing up one little bit. NOTHING. Oh Noooooo!!!

Eventually, you buy donner meat, no sauce, no onion, no bread and you shove a few pieces down your throat and wash it down with water.

Yes. I can see why... but the next morning after the night before while everyone else is still asleep and reeking of what they had to eat and drink you awake and start thinking, "Did I really eat that?" The memory stays with you forever. You can't shake it. "I reaaally ate that!"

LOL @ Pam's scenario at the chippy's

I have always gone for the chicken breast even before Atkineering (which in UK is always just a piece of chicken with skin chucked into the deep fryer, not coated in anything carby like KFC 'chicken' is!!)
