| Hi and welcome. Please put your weight (start/current/goal) and your height in your profile. It helps us give you appropriate answers. Anyhow, about breakfast, you don't have to eat eggs. I eat leftovers frequently: slices of roast chicken, turkey, vegetable soup, etc. When I first came to this board, there was a moderator whose favorite breakfast was taco salad! Slices of cheese and some kind of meat are good choices too. If you don't think you can face non-egg breakfasts, then if you have some spare time in the evening, you can boil a dozen eggs. Keep them in the refrigerator and use them as handy breakfasts. Likewise you can make a crustless quiche and cut wedges off in the mornings.

| You have read the book therefore you know fruit for breakfast is not ok in induction. You can scramble egs easily in the microwave. personnaly I was concerned about over eating of eggs so I have tried to steer away from them and have moved to eating ham or turkey in the mornings. You gotta eat on Atkins. Good luck. |

| Hi there! I NEVER used to eat breakfast unless it was a quick donut or bagel after leaving the house. Now, I enjoy getting up a little earlier and making something or just reheating last night's left-overs. I get a little sick of eggs sometimes so I occassionally do the mock danish or just suasage or just bacon. My favorite though is left-over steak, pork, or chicken! Try some things out. There's no rule that breakfast must be eggs & bacon! Good Luck!!

| Hi sabina14, Are you sure you read Atkins? Fruit is not allowed in any form at all zip zilch during Induction. You would definitely benefit from making sure you read the book again especially the chapter on Induction and review the acceptable food lists both in the book and posted right here on the Board. It's a good idea to print them out and tape the list to your fridge so you always know what you can have and what you have to avoid. I'm not a fan of breakfast either so I can understand you feelings. you can try having a couple of things.
And again I would really urge you to re read your copy of DANDR and make sure you understand the acceptable foods list and why following it is so critical to your success. On that note Welcome aboard! Peter |

| Nope, no fruit allowed. I really have learned to like fried eggs for breakfast, even though I couldn't eat them very often before I started this WOL. You will probably find that your tastes for certain things really change. If you can't live without something sweet in the morning (nobody here encourages eating sweet things on induction, you should try to break your addictions to sweets during that time) I suggest the mock french toast or mock danish for breakfast. The recipes for those can be found in the recipe section of this forum. I also like the flax bun recipe on the "Linda's Low carb" site. I omit the salt and add a packet of splenda and some cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice, depending on my mood. You can make the flax bun the night before and keep it in the fridge if your are short on time in the mornings. Hannah

| I think you're saying you haven't started Atkins yet, and are concerned about eating 'heavy' breakfasts like bacon and eggs when your pre-Atkins breakfasts mainly consist of fruit. I was one of those that never ate breakfast, which is really not a good habit. I eat breakfast now, but it's not big. I usually have a hard boiled egg and an ounce of cheese. The high fat content (during induction we eat 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs) really keeps me full until my lunch, and gets my metabolism going by providing fuel in the morning. There are days where I've had olives and left over roast chicken, or cream cheese on slices of ham, rolled up. I eat bacon maybe once a month! The key to eating this way is to think outside the box. Eat whatever you like from the acceptable food list! Drink your water, exercise and you'll be well on your way to a healthier you! |

| http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/pancakes.html this is a great recipe for induction friendly pancakes. It's really good, when you put some butter on them and induction friendly syrup (I found Atkins brand syrup at my local grocery store) tastes exactly like pancakes, couldn't tell the difference. Good Luck and don't be afraid to experiment! |
