Default How much salad/veggies do you eat a day?

Hello...I'm officially done my 2nd week of induction. My 1st week I lost 6 lbs. This week only 2. I've been logging everything into fitday and I have been below 20 carbs each day. I did eat more salad this week than last, but I did not eat more than what is recommended. I only eat lettuce and cucumbers and then top it off with some cheese, a few slices of pepperoni and a egg. I'm wondering if I should cut out the salads everyday and only eat them occasionally. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

First of all congratulations on your 8 pound loss

Eat 3 cups of Salad veggies a day. Or 2 cups salad greens and 1 cup from the "other veggies" list. Don't eat less.

If you're only eating iceberg lettuce, you're getting very little nutrients. Maybe try what my DH did... he kept his iceberg but started adding more and more baby spinach in with it. Now his salads are mostly baby spinach with a little iceberg for crunch. Get adventurous and try other veggies. I'm in love with jicama, eat it daily. You might fall in love with something else but how will you know if you're not sampling other possibilities?

Maybe you could post your stats? Those with less weight to lose do not drop weight as quickly as us heavy weights. Also make sure you are getting your fat/protien/carb ratios in line because that can help with weight loss. Are you exercising?

actually you have done exactly what you should have been doing with your weight loss. in the very beginning we burn off our glycogen stores and they are storede with water about 3 grams of water per gram of glycogen so we get a very rapid whoosh of our stored fluids then we start burning our fat stores (that is the ketosis monemt of joy) and fat does not have any water stores with it so we don't get as rapid a loss from now on out. use your tape measure to see those large bulky fat stores melting off you as you work your Atkins to becomwe the healthier smaller person you want to be.

Happy low carbing.
