Default Should I start with Induction?-- a few questions...

Hi everyone, :wave
I'm back in full force with this WOE. I went through a period of trying to do Weight Watchers, but the scale didn't do anything but fluctuate 3-4lbs in both directions for a few months. I have a few questions: 1. Should I start with a totally clean 14 day induction if I'm 8 lbs away from my goal? 2. I'm a heavy exerciser. I exercise about one hour everyday. I can remember how hard it was to exercise during Induction. Do you recommend that I cut back on the exercise during this time? I guess this question is targeted more towards those who are "gym rats" and who know a lot about fitness. 3. Weights...should I continue with my weights during this 14 day timeframe? 4. Who is the "fitness guru" moderator on this bulletin board?

I certainly don't claim any fitness guru status, so with that out of the way. I would recommend a strict 14 day Induction period as you still need to break yourself from the cravings of sugar and our comfort foods that WW allows into your diet. While your weight loss might not be stellar during the 14 day (it certainly might), it should succeed in getting you in complete control of your diet and the ability to resist cravings of starchy vegetables and the passing-by donut. To do Induction loosely only to me makes the recognizing of cravings or trigger foods that much more difficult later on.

As for exercise during Induction, it is a requirement. You being ahead of the game I would recommend doing whatever your body will allow. If you suffer a bad induction flu only a sadist would recommend you exercise each day for 2 hours each time. Drink your water, and you should be fine. I have been doing an extended induction for the last 11 months and weights have been a critical piece of my success. I believe to leave them out of any exercise plan would be foolish, except in the case of pain or injury.

I'll let someone else like Shawnee take the title of fitness guru.

you need to keep doing both your aerobics and your resistance doruing your induction. Drink lots of water and follow the DANDR chapter 11 rules so you too can be an Atkins loser goalie. After your 14 days you can move topremaintneance if you know your CCLL and your problem rungs and foods from before. if not OWL would be best.
