Default Its me... guess I have to start again

Well I used to be a frequent flyer here, until my computer was hijacked, than after it was fixed my family and I packed up the car and our lives to move across the US... Weve gotten settled, mostly, and I think its time for to face the facts I fell off the diet durring my time of stress and am having the WORST time trying to get back on track!
I did atkins for 6 full mths with out a single cheat... than I started cheating here and there... and than I just wasn't on the diet at all anymore... so here I am 15 lbs gained from my weight loss adventure, and ready to get going again.
For the last week I have woken every morning with the intent to start today than by the end of the day I come up with some lame excuse as to why I should just start tomorow..
I don't know why this is so hard for me this time around, when I started the diet before it was SOOO easy.. I woke up one morning and decided this was the day and I was ready... I didn't even miss the carbs... so why is it so hard for me now?
So I sat down and wrote a list of why I NEED to start again.. my eating disorder is fully active again, when *I was on atkins before it seemed to just disapear... I feel horrible all the time, where as while on atkins I felt great physicaly and mentaly....
Im deffinatly falling into old feelings and habbits, so today IS the day... I will start and I hope that writting in adbb daily will help with my support... wish me luck.. Im going to need it!

Hey, I find it easy to stay motivated if you find something you really want, but you can only have it once you get smaller. My motivation is this girl at school, I have had a crush on her since I was a freshman. I know she wont go out with a 245 pound guy. So I got a picture of her, and everytime I think of cheating I look at the picture. It makes me not want to cheat. This might work for you, you should try it. Your motivation could be anything. Hope this works, and stick to it.

Just think in small goals to begin with - to eat the next meal the Induction way. If you dont succeed at first then aim for getting the next meal right and before too long you will be in ketosis and on the losing trail again :joy

I had to give myself a little cheering squad for my FULL atkins friendly day... after my weeks of struggling to get threw a full day... I did it, which makes me even more deturmined and assured I can and will do it tomorow as well!

Hi Angel,
Just wanted to drop a note to say I'm in the same boat. I did Atkins a couple yrs ago and had no problem not cheating. Ditto on the started cheating here and there and then finally just fell off the wagon. Its been a total struggle to start again,procrastination and excuses, but I made it thru the first day finally!

Congrats to you - those 24 hours were so hard!!! Stay strong and you will be in Ketosis in no time and then it will get so much easier!

And always always try positive visualization when you are in your weak moments!

I'm in the same boat. I find it so hard to stay focused. For the past week I would do fine at work and blow it as soon as I'd come home. I can no longer fit my size 14's and had no choice but to go out and buy size16's. Yet, I wasn't willing to accept it until I weighed myself today and saw 210 lbs. :yikes What have I done? I'm so upset and disgusted with myself that I sincerely want to cry.

My binges must stop and tomorrow will be day 1 AGAIN! I know this WOL works so why do I continue to sabotage myself?

NO MORE GAMES! I've joined a gym and made the committment to exercise everyday and loose this weight for myself and my children. I can't take it anymore.

After reading this entire thread I notice one thing everyone has in common. When we cheat it calls for another cheat!!! So the answer is this!

Don't cheat! Don't allow yourself to cheat! It empowers you with such a wonderful feeling when you don't allow yourself to cheat.

How do we not cheat? We tell ourselves that we aren't going to do it. We say," I am tired of food controlling me, from now on I am controlling what I put in my mouth!"

To be able to not cheat, you have to plan ahead. You plan for success. You have the right foods on hand and ready when you need them.

It is all in the planning.
