| Welcome to the Board! Most of us were not big fans of water before starting Atkins and now we can't get enough of it. The aspartame in Sierra Mist can cause a stall or a slowdown in your weight loss, so switching to pure water will allow you to maximize your weight loss results.

| Welcome, itstime. A tip on the water is to start early in the day so you don't end up with a huge amount to drink later in the day. Good luck! |

| Welcome! I recently signed up too, although I'm familiar with Atkins. You might consider posting in THE SPOTLIGHT INTRODUCE YOURSELF so others can learn your story. P.S. may I suggest Diet Rite soda? It comes in a variety of flavors and contains zero calories, zero carbohydrates, zero caffeine, zero sodium, and zero aspartame! |

You should also keep an eye on the effect they have on your weight loss, as many members have seen their weight loss rate slowed down by diet drinks.

| haha you dont have to like it, you just have to drink it when i first started atkins, i hadn't drank tap water in -years-, because it tasted gross to me. i barely drank water period. i'm a southern girl and i enjoyed my ice tea. after realizing i couldnt afford to have all my water be bottled (man that gets pricey), i made myself start drinking tap. making it super cold helped at first, so i had 2 64oz cups, and had one with me and one in the fridge at all times. these days, i keep one bottle of water with me all day, and just refill it with plain ole tap water, and i have around 10+ of em a day. its great, honestly. i love water now. the only liquids that pass my lips are 1 cup of decaf in the morning, very rarely i'll have hot tea at night like maybe once or twice a month, and waterwaterwater. once you start drinking it, you realize just how much better your body runs on it! its like driving a car with crappy oil, then putting the good stuff in it and you never even realized it didn't run well until you did. as far as diet rite goes, yeah its made with splenda so its 'safe' but i'm wary of them. more often than not its a crutch for a bad habit in the disguise of an occasional treat. the 1 time i had a diet rite, it tore up my stomach and i felt like **** for an hour or so. the other day i was pouring my boyfriend a dr pepper... and i realllyyy looked at it y'know, and its sort of gross that people would -drink- something thats black, and bubbly, and sort of unnatural looking lol

| Day two and not one diet sierra mist. Honestly, I wouldn't drink diet rite any way I gave up the dark pop when I got a kidney stone that is how I ended up on sierra mist. So far so good but then its only the second day. Thanks everyone for the encouragement. |
