| I don't remember... did you post your menus before? If you didn't, could you do it so we can see if there's anything wrong there? But regardless of this, you should not weigh daily. It is better to weigh only at the end of Induction, so that you don't get upset by normal fluctuations in weight. Your bad mood could be just a consequence of the disappointment caused by the number on the scale. So put the metal/glass monster away and wait until day 15 to weigh. Take body measurements too, because the scale is not saying the whole truth.

| Other then that its been meat eggs and veggies. Where are your veggie carbs, your minimum 3 cups of veggies a day? You should be eating a few veggie carbs, optimally a few with each meal. You are shortchanging yourself if you are not, and it could have everything to do with how poorly you feel.

| Induction can be done safely up to a year, if one is taking one's supplements as directed in the book, and eating their vegetables each day as directed in the book. So yes, do another induction if you like, that won't hurt a thing, and make sure to model your menus as the book does the induction menus. The sample menu on page 133 shows avocado and tomato with breakfast, spinach and other greens and veggies with lunch and kale with dinner. Veggie carbs. Less than 20 but very important! much success to you

I can't help with the weight gain, but wanted to let you know that I too get gruff and edgy on this diet. I've done low carb twice before, and the same thing happened. In fact, this time around, I had a talk with my wife and asked her in advance to try and understand that I'm liable to turn into a jerk without notice and to try and remember that it's chemical and not something she should take to heart. It's been a while since I last did this WOE, so I can't remember if the irritability smooths out after a while. I sure hope so.

If you restart Induction, what you will actually be doing is extended Induction. Extended Induction may be beneficial for folks who have a lot to lose or have a high degree of metabolic resistance, but the experience on this board tells us that most others stall if they do not move to OWL. I don't know your stats though. Whatever you decide to do, keep in mind that you will probably not experience the weight loss you have seen until now during a second bout of Induction. This is because the glycogen (and water stored with it) are gone by now, so no wooshie will happen. It's not the last time you'll discover that something you ate had sugar in it. When this happens, the way to act, in my opinion, is to drop that particular food and move on from where you were.

| Yes, it's normal. I suppose this is the end of your 14-day Induction, right? How many pounds did you lose, is it 10? You should use the chart on page 158 of DANDR to approximate your degree of metabolic resistance. Then read Chapter 13 and decide what you will do next -- move to OWL or extend the Induction phase.
