Default Ahhhhh, Crud. Flaxseed Meal Messup.

I just realized I messed up using a flaxseed muffin recipe that I'm not allowed. It calls for 1/4 cup flaxseed meal! I ate that this morning. Will it screw up my whole induction and will I have to start over now because of that? The recipe had 1/4 cup flaxseed meal, Cinnamon, 1 egg, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp oil, and 2 packets splenda. I counted the 2 carbs for the splenda. Should I have counted more? How badly will this mess me up?

I don't know how bad/if this will mess up your Induction results, but you do not have to start over.

Did the recipe use 1/4 cup for 1 serving? That's a lot of flax!
Make sure you drink a lot of water or your intestines will get... umm... stuck... from that much fiber.

Well, I suppose that's good that I don't have to start over, but now I'm worried about my results. *sigh* I'm just kind of like: to myself. (btw, I really love that icon. I've always wanted an excuse to use it....lol.)

And yeah! It was 1/4 cup for 1 serving! I'm kinda ticked at myself but at the same time....I'm kind of giggling about it, too because I've managed to take a ton of flax and I sooooooo didn't mean to. And now I'm just imagining my insides getting all bunched up and weird. It's not funny, but........it kind of is......

lol. That one and this: . Better if you don't have to use them too often though...

The worst thing flax can do is make you retain some water and some... you know what... that will influence what the scale says. But otherwise you should be fine and your body will keep burning fat.

What was the recipe for? Pancakes? Muffins?

The recipe was for a "flax muffin in a mug." It was actually a pretty cool little recipe. Tasted like a real bran muffin, but just with um.....too much flax. LOL. Apparently.

I drink usually 100+ ounces of water a day and I work out 5 days a week at least 45mins. Cardio + strength training. And I'm also taking a diuretic I was prescribed. Given all that info, should I be okay?

Dunno... but you have more chances to be okay than someone who wasn't doing all these things.

You can make "legal" muffins with cream cheese. These are two recipes I have handy:

oooohhh, thank you!! That helps a lot! Does this 1 breakfast count as a "cheat" even though it wasn't intended? I'm still awaiting the shipment of my Atkins book and relying largely on the forum and all my printed rules and legal foods. But I must have misread/overlooked my serving size for flaxseed meal.

Hmmm... That's a hard one. I guess it depends how you want to look at it. The way I see things, accidents like this are not cheats. You've learned something from it and that's what will matter in the long run. If Atkins was a 2-week diet, I would have considered it a cheat; but since it is a way of eating for life, I'd just count it as a learning experience.

Right, it's not like I was like, "Oh, just 1 bite of a too-much-flaxseed-muffin and I'll be okay!" LMAO. But yeah, I hope this doesn't hinder things too much. I'll just keep plugging away and working hard.
