Default Rotisserie chicken and fast-food chicken wings

These two things - rotisserie chicken (like the kind in supermarkets) and fast-food chicken (buffalo) wings - are they allowed on Atkins? As long as there are no sauces or anything on them, shouldn't they be ok?

"As long as there are no sauces on them" is the critical thing here. I have yet to found one that is not rubbed with something that contains sugars. So read the labels carefully. Maybe you're lucky and there is something out there that is non-sugared. Good luck.

I'll eat baked chicken out of the Safeway deli in a pinch even though I'm sure they coat it with something that has sugar in it. It does have the hint of sweetness.

I try not to make it a habit, though.

I try making at at home too. When in a rush, at the supermarket I try to aim for the plain once. Most of them have the nutrition info underneath just watch the serving size. I try to aim for one that has 0 carbs, which you have to remember there are still some carbs in there.
I prefer going to wingstop and getting the "plain" wings(the once with no breading) and no sauce. I dont eat their ranch dressing, but rather use mine at home which is very low in carb.

If you like to dip them, look at Walmart/Store for the low carb BBQ from Kraft which is pretty good.

Hope this helps,

TOO SUCCESS

They make a low-carb BBQ sauce? All things in moderation, of course, but I'll have to keep my eyes open for that.

Are you talking about the Kraft Carb Well Original BBQ Sauce? Because this is the list of ingredients:
Quote:
Water, Concentrated Tomato Juice (Water, Tomato Paste), Vinegar, Sugar, Modified Food Starch, Salt, Contains less Than 2% of Citric Acid, Molasses, Paprika, Spice, Mustard Flour, Caramel Color, Guar Gum, Natural Flavor, Potassium Sorbate As A Perservative, Acesulfame Potassium And Sucralose (Sweetners), Red 40.
It has sugar, modified food starch and molasses, so this stuff is not "legal", even though it is "low carb".

I wasn't referring to any sauce in particular. Another poster just said there was a sauce that was "legal," so I was going to look into it.

Yep, that's why I asked the other member (Invictus) what Kraft low carb barbecue sauce she is referring to. The only one I know of, Carb Well, is not allowed.

Any recommendation for a national chain that sells carb-free chicken wings for a snack? I know that both Publix and Winn-Dixie's rotissorie chickens are glazed with a sugar-based glaze (as an example), so I have to be careful what chicken to buy.

Has anyone ever eaten the chicken wings from the pizza places like Pizza Hut, Dominos, or Papa Johns? Are they "legal"? I don't know if they come prepackaged with sugar as an ingredient.
