Default Beginning Induction today

I shopped for my meals yesterday, ate my last pre-Atkins meal (Chinese and some chocolate-chip ice cream), and made sure I had read up on what I needed to do from here on out to get into ketosis. I weighed this morning, so I'll see how I do.

Wish me luck!

Good luck to you. I just started myself. Unfortunately I cant rid my house of carbd, my hubby eats them and has no plans to stop. So I'm stuck with the look but don't touch way of life.

Well, I had scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast (so forbidden on a lowfat diet - yum!), some hamburger patties for lunch, and a small steak for dinner (around 5 pm.) Since I work nights, I had three hamburger patties (with cheese) for "lunch" around 2:00 a.m., and it's now after 8:00 a.m. and I am so not hungry! I didn't even get to the extra scrambled eggs and green beans that I took to work. That meat is very filling. So far, no sugar cravings and no headache. I'm trying to drink as much water as I can (until my gag reflex tells me "no more water!")

Since I probably had a ton of carbs in my system when I began, I'm not going to weigh or measure for a few days. With all the carbs coursing through my veins and the fat I'm eating, I wouldn't be surprised if I gained some to start out with.

Here we go!

Don't forget you are required to have three cups of vegetables during the Induction phase of Atkins, with maximum one of these three cups coming from the "Other Vegetables" list. If you find meat too filling to also have veggies, eat the veggies first and then the meat.

Thumbs up Re: Beginning Induction today

Ditto what Georgiana said. It is required that you get your veggies in. The majority of your carb count should be coming from veggies. Eat them first, then your meat.
