| Cholesterol goes down while doing Atkins. And it makes sense too.. think about it. Read page 176. Triglygerides are what make up your stored fat. We burn fat on Atkins. Bye bye triglycerides! Mine went down from 192 to 168 total this year so far. Hdl went up 5 points, my ratio is excellent. There is a forum for 'cholesterol' issues, check it out, mine is not the biggest improvement by far! Dietary fat, such as in eggs, does not necessarily lead to excess fat in your bloodstream. Eggs got a bad rap for years (undeserved) because of this not being understood. I eat about 10 to 15 a week.

| Yes, there is a limit on how many eggs you can eat per day. Eggs have 1g carb, so if you're getting over half of your carbs from veggies (as you must), and you stay below 20 carbs (for induction), and you eat other things such as cheese that have carbs, then there's your math... |

Regarding the cholesterol in eggs...yes they do have cholesterol. But the egg yolks also contains a substance called "choline" or "lecithin". Choline helps to lower your serum cholesterol. Also, about 2/3 of your serum cholesterol is made by your liver. So if eating eggs and meat make your cholesterol "rise", then your liver was already working overtime to begin with.
