| Well done on sticking to the food list for 6 days :clapping :clapping Sabina! One coffee a day containing caffeine WILL hurt you on induction. Here is one message of the many on this board about its effects http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=68090 The reason you feel bad without it is that you are addicted to it. So try to stick to decaffeinated instead - or just plain old water!! :capital Most successful Atkineers wean themselves off this addictive drug and switch to decaffeinated coffee which you can buy in most shops and restaurants. Some people found they couldnt stop it instantly but started substituting decaffeinated coffee for some of the caffeine stuff - say use 1/4 decaf & 3/4 caf for a few days then 1/2 & 1/2 then 3/4 & 1/4 then all decaffeinated. Give it a try - your body will thank you for it. :hug

| Good job for staying on 6 days!! :joy The reason why you were grumpy and edgy after not drinking coffee is the caffeine withdrawal and that should tell you that you are WAY too addicted to caffeine. You may get headaches and nausea, too. The same happens with sugar. I know some of how you feel, I am really addicted to Seattle's Best Java Kula coffee drink and to not have any and pass by it everyday, is a killer for me sometimes! I almost gave in and had one today but I have lost 20 lbs, cheat free for 24 days and I think to myself I would rather not ruin all my progress for a cup of sweet coffee. We have to learn to live and deal with foods and not use food as an excuse to live. When you said, "you don't think you can go on", doesn't that sound any alarm bells for you? Not going on because you can't drink coffee?? :yikes You are too addicted! lol! Don't let not having any coffee be an excuse not to lose weight and be healthy. :nod It will be hard in the beginning but over time, you will get over your addiction to coffee or be okay with a cup of decaf here and there. Besides, it is not the coffee you are missing but the caffeine. Caffeine is not healthy and can also lead to encouraging your cravings while on Atkins. So try hard and give it up and have a clean induction; your body will thank you! |
