| Here in SA we have the same problem. I have stumbled on a Jelly which makes a big bowl and only has 1 carb per bowl. It has aspartame but I am not bothered as I do not touch fizzy drinks - so only the jelly is responsible for my aspartame intake which is minor IMHO.... |

| Flashsa, aspartame should be avoided "whenever possible", during all phases of Atkins. Since you do not have to eat store-bought jelly, you should not consume aspartame. The reason why aspartame should be avoided is that is may stall or slow down weight loss. There are many members here who, unfortunately, didn't listen to Dr. Atkins advice until they found on their own the negative effect aspartame has on their weight loss. I wrote "store-bought" jelly because making your own jelly, with a legal sweetener, is really easy. You can make it with any of the "legal" sweeteners in DANDR and then it's okay to have it as long as you count the sweetener towards your daily 3-packets allotment.

| As far as I know there are NO non-aspartame sweetened jelly (jello in USA) packets on sale in normal UK shops. You can however find unsweetened gelatine packets in the baking section of most supermarkets which as Georgiana said you can use a 'legal' sweetener to make up with.
