| The 12-15 net carbs rule was added by Atkins Nutritionals after Dr. Atkins' death. At ADBB we are following DANDR 2002, where there is no mention of 12-15 net carbs. In DANDR 2002, it simply says you should eat 3 cups of vegetables per day---either 3 cups of salad vegetables, or 2 cups of salad vegetables and 1 cup of "other" vegetables---and over half of your net carbs should come from veggies. So eating 2 cups of lettuce and 1 cup of cucumbers would be okay, according the first rule among these two. However, since lettuce and cucumbers are very low in carbs, it will limit the amount of other carbohydrate-containing foods you can eat, like eggs, cheese, cream, avocado, spices, sweetener, olives, lemon juice, etc.

| Do you know if scallops are allowed in induction? Also, do I have to eat 20 grams of carbohydrates per day? Because if I eat seafood, they contain no carbs so I will only be eating the carbohydrates from the salad. Thank you for your help Georgiana. |
