| The only way to break an addiction is to abstain. The cravings will subside, then go away completely within a few weeks - if you don't cave. When you have a craving - drink some water, do some exercise, do something that takes your mind off eating.

| Don't know if this works for anyone else but here goes..... Whenever I have a craving for something sweet, I'll eat the opposite...a piece of cheddar, a slice of pepperoni, etc. Somehow it takes away the desire for sugar. |

| Cold turkey is the only way to go for breaking sugar addiction. Trying to substitute with artificial sweeteners just prolongs the agony.

| I put cream cheese in celery and ate it when I wanted sweets in the beginning - that's what worked the best for me.

| Also remember to check your menu for all kinds of hidden sugar. Hidden sugars can triggers cravings. I think if you crave chocolate try some magnesium supplement. Sometimes that will help. Hang in there. It will get easier.
