| Thats one of those yes and no answers. Dr Atkins wanted us to avoid aspertain and although I am not sure what the Arizona Tea is made from if its aspertain .... We are limited to 3 servings of sweet a day and anything like that doesn't count for you r water, sooooooo you still have to drink the H2O. Cool whip if made from dairy cream is legal, if it contains nothing but heavy cream. Whipping cream is legal. Happy low carbing |

| Yep, read the label and avoid aspartame. I'm thinking a 'no' on the Cool Whip. Just whip up your own with heavy cream....mmmmmm whipped cream... :yummy |

| i've had the arizona 'zero carb' green tea, apple cranberry flavoured' and drank it during induction howver not the whole bottle. Those bottles are HUGE. I checked the ingredients and its ok just watch the portion size for induction (sweetener limit).

| I'd think no on the cool whip too, it's an edible oil product, not cream and I'm not sure what it's sweetened with. It's just a chemical goo, imho! Stick with the real stuff. |

| Hi JTS, :wave Do yourself a favor and avoid aspartame like the plague - it stalls wieghtloss and worse, much worse it's a known and dangerous carcinogenic, which Dr. Atkins detested. Always check for sugars, it's not just the carbs remember if it ends in an "ose" Fructose, Sucralouse etc etc it's a no no. The one acceptable sweetener is Splenda, which is made from Sugar but doesn't have any of the negative side effects. If you choose to use it don't forget one packet = 1 carb and you're limited to three packets a day. One of the real key objectives about Induction is breaking addictions to certain foods and additives like caffeine, sugar, carbs etc etc...by indulging yourself in anything sweet during this time you run the risk of igniting old cravings - and creating new ones. My very best advice to you is tough out the two weeks and do as clean an induction as you possibly can - if you have to have iced tea make some with decaf green tea and a little lemon juice - and Splenda if you have to have it. | Cool Whip is sweetened with sugar or high fructose corn syrup. And as you can see in the Atkins book, added sugar in any form is not allowed on this WOE. The reduced calorie varieties are low in fat and still contain sugars. Also, Cool Whip is a totally artificial product made from hydrogenated oils---which are bad for our health. You're better off buying heavy cream and whipping it yourself. By the way, be cautious about a product by Land o Lakes. It's a Splenda sweetened whipped cream in a can. It contains 2 hidden carbs per serving listed on the can (which is 2 tablespoons) and it contains things not allowed on Induction like low fat milk.

| kind of confusing isn't it the book says whipped cream is aceptatable of course very very early in the book Dr Atkins said whipped cream made with artificial sweetner and then he expects you to remember that for the rest of the book. There is a splenda sweetened whipped cream in a can youcan find in some location but making your own and only the amopunt you are about to use will asssit you with your sweetner limits and your portion size. The tea is one of those atfer you have drunk all your water and you have deternimed that one you are not a cephalic responder nor does aspartame effect you the individual which isn't a carcenogenic nor any other bad for us compound as it is amino acids that are contained in other protein foods but for 25% of the folk in contact with Dr Atkins it was a stalling point in the consumption of drinking diet sodas sweetened with it then you could have it in limited quanties as you can have any other artificial sweetner. HAppy low carbing. Happy low carbing

| If I recall correctly, there are 2 Arizona Ice Tea products. The "diet" one contains aspartame. The "low carb" one has a sugar alcohol....
