| lol I know how you feel. I hate all the constant shopping for fresh whole foods (and damn they're expensive!!), washing pan after pan after pan. I work as a Flight Attendant and I'm never in the mood for cooking when I get home, lol. You have my sympathies. Keep yer chin up and soldier on though |

| Congrats for the lbs lost! If you cook them, you can be done with them in fewer bites as most of them reduce their volume when cooked. Quote:
I know you just wanted to vent though... I rarely eat out, plus I live in Germany so my advice on that would not be very useful for you. I'm sure others can recommend some places though. You can also check the menus of most restaurants online (some have nutritional info and lists of ingredients too) and decide what's best to have. If you don't have Chapter 19 fresh in your mind, it would be good to re-read it so you know what should be avoided (sauces and balsamic vinegar are two examples). If you're not sure about a place/food, ask here and maybe someone ate there before and can help you.

I believe that the best way to overcome temptation is not with willpower, which is so often in short supply, but with our brain power, a potentially unlimited resource. Imagine that you're doing great, losing weight, feeling better than ever, thrilled with yourself, hearing compliments from friends and acquaintances---and then it happens! Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!" | I would cook several dishes at once to last the week so all I had to do was pop it in the microwave. Soups, pureed cauliflower "mashed potatoes" (which you can add cheese and chicken broth and have a creamy soup), chili with no beans, chicken with peppers and onions sauteed up for fajitas (with lettuce "tortillas"), pre-bake a chicken and other oven roasted meats together in advance. All of this takes some of the pressure off during the week when you are tired and hungry arriving home. |
