If the chicken has sugar among the ingredients, then it is not allowed.

As far as I know, the roasted chicken at KFC is glazed and has sugar among seasonings, so it is not allowed either.

It's better if you buy raw chicken and prepare it yourself.

I like to roast my own chicken (I do it in the crockpot so its really tender). The deli ones & KFC, etc almost all have sugar in the seasonings

I don't think it's a glaze as much as a rub, and it has maltodextrin I believe. It's quite tasty, but very expensive, and much better/cheaper to make one's own. That being said, in a pinch on the road, it will be my go-to meal of choice with their green beans.

You could be right, Slapshot. I was looking at the roasted chicken they use in their salads (not sure if it's the same that comes alone). For that one it says:
Quote:
Chicken: glazed chicken breast filets with rib meat, binders added, caramel color added containing: seasoning (salt, sugar, monosodium glutamate, hydrolyzed corn gluten and soy proteins, onion powder, soy sauce solids [soybeans, wheat, salt], spices, maltodexrin, dextrose, garlic powder, autolyzed yeast [...] Pre-dusted with partially hydrogenated soybean and cottonsead oil, maltodextrin, salt, dextrose, dehydrated onion, spice, nonfat dry milk, dehydrated garlic, citric acid, caramel color [...]
To be honest, I'd avoid this stuff more because of the hydrogenated oils than because of the maltodexin, dextrose, etc.

I'm getting a headache just reading about the MSG - there's more of that than there are 'secret spices'!
