| Was the one cup measurement of raw broccoli before it was cooked, or one cup measured after it was cooked? That makes a lot of difference. Just so you know, your one cup "other veggies," like broccoli, need to be measured raw, before cooking. A cup of raw veggies will cook down to about half a cup. Fitday doesn't deduct fiber--you have to do the math.

| Exactly - the Atkins website is showing you NET CARBS, fitday is showing TOTAL CARBS. Net Carbs = Total Carbs - Fibre.

| Thank you both very much for your replies - both of you had answers that solved the problem. #1 - I did measure the broccoli raw at 1 cup and then cooked. So, that shouldn't be the problem. #2 - I forget about having to subtract the fiber from the carbs. So, that's why fit day's numbers were like that. I'll go off of the atkins site from now on and just add in the totals manually to make sure my fitday stats are right on the money. Thanks again! |

I looked up raw and cooked broccoli on my fitday account and for 1 cup raw it said total carbs 5.8g including fiber of 2.3g (making 3.5 net carbs) for 1 cup cooked it said total carbs 13.2g including fiber of 6g (making 7.2 net carbs) I always add the ve(and any other foods) as the raw amount used, whether I cooked it or ate it raw to avoid this problem.

Yes, fitday is 'funny' sometimes...if you put in thje cooked version, it makes all sorts of assumptions about how it was cooked/seasoned. I always use the 'raw' ingredients when I'm cooking myself. I do use the 'cooked' version if I've eaten the food in a restaurant, or if someone else has done the cooking.

| Fit day is annoying that way - I did not realize that I had to deduct my fiber at first so I was eating 20-25 total carbs for the day. |

| for foods I eat over and over I went into "custom foods" and deducted the fiber so there are less items I have to worry about. I always put all veggies in as raw becaues they have no idea what I cook them is so I put the veggie in first then add the fat (bacon grease, vegetable oil, olive oil, etc) on the next line - that way I am adding only what I eat, not what figday thinks. I have quite a list of custom foods but it works for me -- took me a little longer when I first started to make each of them but now it's a snap to add my foods daily. You'll learn all the little quirky things to help get you through the days!!! That's what the Spotlight Hostesses are for!!! LOL

| >>i love brocolli, but i'd stay away from it on induction,>> It's a perfectly fine Induction vegetable! Since YOU have a problem with it, then YOU need to stay away. You know the saying, "Your mileage may vary". |
