Hello One of my most favorite snacks (I think it's all ok but I am not an expert) Hormel Turkey Pepperoni. I am always looking for snacks that are ok and this is one that seems to help the cravings for me.

ok...so I re-looked up the label of the Turkey Pepperoni. There are 0 carbs but the label does have dextrose on it. Would that mean it is not ok in the induction? Would you just count it as a .5 carb per serving? Does that makes sense. Again, I am new here so I am still learning.

If you're hankering for Slim Jims, here's a decent (though not fully legal) replacement: Our Products

It does have sugar as an ingredient, but it's listed 7th out of 8 ingredients (after paprika, which I cannot taste at all in the product). So, I'm turning a blind eye to this since I'm on Rung 3 and frankly, one of these every other day adds a negligible (if that) amount of sugar in the grand scheme of things. I get them at Whole Foods.

I'm not sure I understand their "contains corn" comment, since the ingredients are Pork, Beef, Sea Salt, Water, Spices, Paprika, Raw Sugar, Lactic Acid Starter Culture.

For the most part, everyone here tries to be as "clean" as possible...and unfortunately a lot of meats like that will contain dextrose - which IS a sugar.

I myself have eaten sausages & pepperoni and whatnot that say 0 carbs but has dextrose in the label. In my own personal opinion (others will differ here)...it shouldn't be an issue as long as it doesn't stall you.

I myself - 6 months in - am trying to be as "pure" as possible and shop at a lot of health food stores to get meats that don't have added sugar - made with no preservatives, nitrites, nitrates, antiboiotics, etc...etc...

Depending on where you live, though, you might not have that option and again, as long as it's not stalling you or hurting your weight loss - it should be OK - just don't go crazy with it and still try to keep portion control in mind. Plus when dextrose is listed, I always use the rule that while it's listed as 0 - I'd count 0.5 g carbs per serving.

Just make absolute certain there is NO Corn syrup at all. that's a huge no-no.
