Unhappy Starting over again, I could just cry...

Hello everyone,
Some of the folks who are on here a lot may remember me, then again, maybe not. I could just cry right about now as I have to start all over again...Let me explain.

Years ago, I was doing fine, losing weight...started at 286 lbs and lost down to around 245 and started feeling better...Then I lost it somewhere...My husband worked on the north slope of Alaska, 2 weeks gone, 2 weeks back. I got to where I didn't want to take away from his time here so we went out alot.. to restaurants, drank beer, and traveled on road trips a lot!....At first I was sort of ok, I would go back on plan when he left and lose what I had gained while he was gone...back and forth, back and forth....Then, at the beginning of this year he stopped working on the slope and started working closer to home...both of us were used to eating a certain way when he was here and that never changed...what changed was that I found I wasn't able to do my original woe while he is here. I have gained almost all of my weight back now!!! I am back to 279.2 lbs as of this morning.....Now I know I have no choice and no direction left but to do this woe! I have to do this not only for my mental health but for my general health overall. My stomach hurts all of the time and I feel tired and just plain useless! Its going to be tough at first, but I know I can do it as I have done it before...Hubby is just going to have to tough it out whether he likes it or not! lol....

I am going to use fitday to help me track my carbs, I have the paid version on my computer. I am a 40 year old college student and start back on August 24th and I am hoping to have the energy to really keep up and actually fit in those stupid chairs eventually. (maybe not that fast huh? rofl) Anyhow, I just wanted to share my stupidity and hope to get some support in here. (smack me if you need too! rofl) So today, June 9th, I am starting all over!

Hugs to all who read this!

Sonya, you are not alone, not in the least I fell off the wagon about a year ago and I gained 50 pounds back...the 40 I lost and 10 more =/ It's not going to be easy, but you and I both know it's going to be SO worth it!! You can do this, and before you know it...your before and afters will be displayed proudly in the Gallery

Welcome back to the WOL, and taking the first but most important steps to getting your life back

Thank you jsj0305....
I appreciate it. I know sometimes in our own little worlds we feel alone and well, I feel really stupid. I mean, I knew better! Thanks so much for helping me to not feel so alone in this.

Hi and welcome back Sonya -- Here is a little information I hope will refresh your memory and help get you going again. Stay away from the shakes and bars (they are NOT legal on induction) - eat a variety of foods, get your fats, carbs and protein in daily, drink 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), take supplements and exercise. Check the STAC for additional support Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet. We also have challenges for members to join, some are exercise related and some aren’t. Also start a journal and post your thoughts along the way.

Check the stickies (information posts) at the top of this page – it’s an easy way to answer questions you may have. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/

Check the recipe sites also - they are very helpful and will help make your meals so much more enjoyable.

Recipe Sites

(Induction Recipe Basics--More recipes added)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/6807-induction-recipe-basics-more-recipes-added.html

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck.

Don't worry Sonya - I can honestly say that I myself, just like a lot of us have been down that road. Luckily you have us and this site to help you stay on track. In 2007 my husband was gone ALOT, he was a truck driver and it made it soooo easy to follow Atkins without him around. But when he was back it was extremely difficult to stick to the plan so I know EXACTLY what you're going through. Just stick it out and know that its your strength that wants to make that accomplishment and with that drive you can and WILL DO IT! Just remember to eat something before you make dinner for him or if you go out a lot eat what you know you can have. You're only finding excuses for yourself to not stick to the plan and I know thats harsh to say but you can do it if you want it bad enough! Good luck and know you're not alone

You know, you are so right! I know that, I guess thats why it feels even more awful...I know I have been using him as an excuse. You definately do understand me! And thanks for the ...!! Your absolutely in the right to say what you thought might sound harsh...but its just smack right on! And thanks! I am almost in tears here! I am usually good while he is at work, and by the time he gets home its like I am jealous that he can eat whatever he wants and I want to have fun with him too...so I end up messing it up! But today, I turn over a new leaf (or tree) and I will take your advice and munch on something healthy before he gets home...Then will give myself a pep talk or visit here while I am making his and my 3 kids dinner. If we go out, I will be stubborn and stick to my plan! (it started out with me feeling guilty by saying we can't go there cause they don't have anything for me...u know? like chinese or something.)

Any ideas of what to have at places like chinese, sushi/japanese, or mexican places?? That would be very helpful!

Thanks again!
