Cool Day 2? Day 1? Oh Heck - I'll Be in the Induction Phase for While Yet Anyway...

So yesterday morning after making scrambled eggs with cheese and not having had anything since then - I decided to go back onto the Atkins Diet.

I started once before with the induction phase, I think it worked quite well, my clothes fit me so much nicer, and my shirts were hugging more body curves then bulging fat blobs.

So yesterday here is what I got in (before buying the book mind you).

Breakfast:

3 scrambled eggs
4 oz cheese

Supper:

3 Chorizo sausages
1 cup shredded Zuchinni
1 cup sliced portabella mushrooms
1/8 cup butter to sautee the Zuchinni and mushrooms

I will admit, I need to eat more, but weekends are difficult because sometimes I get to sleep in - and I LOVE sleeping in.

So, today I decided I'd try and be a bit better - I actually made up a menu plan for today and tomorrow. I didn't want to buy too many vegetables all at the same time, so I just did two days worth, though I think I have more then that, but hey - better then not enough.

Today's Breakfast:

2 over-easy eggs

Supper:

3 Chicken Thighs, seasoned with salad seasoning (just flakes like onion, bell peppers, pepper, etc., nothing crazy, no sugar either).
2 cup romaine lettuce
1 cup cucumber/bell pepper/mushroom mix
2 tbsp Greek Feta dressing - 1 carb per tbsp. No sugar.

I've been drinking lots of water though, so while I know I need to get more eating during the rest of the day and maybe not trying to scarf all the veggies at one sitting, I feel I'm off to an okay start.

Oh - and I bought the book before supper, I've read it once before - but it was an older version, so now I'm up to date with what ya'll are reading.

So here's what tomorrow's menu looks like (tell me if you think it's good!!)

Breakfast:

Scrambled Egg Wraps
- 2 eggs scrambled, wrapped in romaine lettuce with a 1/4 cup of bell peppers and 1 oz of shredded cheddar cheese (shredded myself).

Lunch:

2 Chicken Thighs (leftovers)
1 cup salad (leftovers)

Dinner:

Stuffed Green Peppers
- Green Pepper halved with concoction of ground beef, cheese, onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and a couple cherry tomatoes
1/2 cup romaine lettuce
1/2 cup bell pepper/mushroom/cucumber mix

How does all that sound?

On Wednesday for Lunch I am going to have Chunk Tuna with Mayo and celery pieces, and 4 celery stalks with 2 oz total of cream cheese. I'd do it tomorrow, but I want my leftovers too much

So tonight I am going to read some more.

All the best on everybody's journey.

Oh - one more thing - I do have a start weight, however I am not going to weigh myself anymore until I start to feel comfortable with my success. I have taken all my measurements and plan to take my measurements every two weeks. My goals are in measurements and good health.

Happy Days to all, and to all a low-carb day

Sounds like you are planning it out well. I like that you decided to get in three meals. Also spreading out the veggies are great. Good job on getting in all the veggies. Don't forget about the fat too.

Thanks everybody ) What a way to make a newbie feel welcome!!

I ended up only eating one scrambled egg wrap this morning - I was just not hungry for more. I have the other one sitting in my bag in case I need a snack later, but I doubt it - I haven't been hungry at all since Sunday. I've just been making sure to make food so that I am eating.

Again - what a great support system, thanks so much!!

Welcome! You've lost your appetite already?! Great! That's a good sign that you're probably in ketosis and burning FAT! Eat when you're hungry, but also remember eat at least every 6 hours.

I sure hope I'm burning fat - I've got enough here to warm my city for a few days. After my two week induction (I'm going to do extended induction due to a massive amount of weight to lose) I'm going to treat my hubby and I to a lovely steak dinner. We don't buy it often because it's so expensive, but that's what I'm looking forward to right now.

I just hate the scale - that's why I don't want to weigh myself. I'll do it periodically, but I'd much rather watch my measurements get lower. I just feel it's a greater sense of accomplishment, I always feel pounds are subjective, and weight loss and weight gain can be caused by any number of influences. Inches lost however, is something I can touch and feel.

I'm sure once I lose more weight and not hating it as much as I do now I'll be more regular like once a week or bi-weekly when I do my measurements, but for now it's staying put in the closet.

Steak is not as expensive as you think. If you really look at the costs of meats, and compare, chicken, pork, beef, etc are pretty comparable.

Here in Atlanta, boneless, skinless chicken breasts are about 1.99 per/lb on sale. I can find NY Strip, Ribeyes etc 4.99 lb on sale. (WHOLE LOINS but the butchers will generally slice for free) I know it's $3.00 difference, but I only eat 8oz at a time, get a lot of good fat and am not hungry.

When I do chicken breasts, I eat 2 because of the lack of fat makes me hungry. So the Steak dinner costs me $2.50 but the chicken dinner costs me $2.00 (2 8 OZ Breasts) If I do wings, legs or thighs, I get good fat but pay for the weight of the bone.

Additionally, whole boneless pork loin is $1.99 lb on sale. Same as chicken but with much more flavor and fat!

Buy in bulk, have it cut, and if you have a Foodsaver, use it! If not, preseason it, wrap in foil, and freeze!
