| Hi bratty...welcome! Honey is a definite no-no. Check out linda's for some other dressing ideas Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Recipes. Your menu looks pretty good other than that. Can you list the amounts of the veggies? |

| I was thinking 2 cups for the salad, 1 cup for the broccoli. I'm on chapter 4 now, must get through to chapter 12 before I go to sleep! |

| Alright, day one has started, a bit late because I had to get a bunch of fasting blood tests done (ate about 5 hours after waking up). I've adjusted my settings on my nutrition counter on my iPod so that daily points are carb only (but tracks everything else). Couldn't find bacon without nitrates so I'll try the farmer's market tomorrow. So far I'm at: 4 carbs 30 fat 18 protein Ate (most of, couldn't eat it all but I accounted for it in my nutrition counter): 3 eggs, 3 mushrooms, 1 slice onion, scrambled with a tablespoon of non-hydrogenated margarine |

| Avocadoes & olives are 'special category foods'. You should not be having both in one day (one or the other). You must be measuring your foods if you are keeping track electronically? Post amounts when you want a review...it is important

| Good to know! Yes, keeping track electronically with nutrition counter on my iPod Touch. Not weighing everything but it has options for how many eggs, mushrooms at different sizes, onions at different sizes like slices, etc. For my snack instead of olives, I have turkey jerky and gouda. (turkey jerky is organic and local without nitrates or that other garbage, has natural smoke, garlic and onion for flavour, the gouda is also local) These are the supplements the doc has me on: 1tsp cod liver oil 1 multivitamin 1 D 1 iodine 1 pancreatic enzyme 1 b12 sublingual |

| I would replace the margarine with butter or another healthy oil like olive or maybe coconut

| It's made with olive oil, but tomorrow I'll try straight olive oil. Right now having it with vinegar and pepper in a salad with gouda! Yumm! Turkey jerky for snack time! (doesn't have any synthetic preservatives, it's refrigerated and local) Had to leave the bbq because there was nothing I could eat so I'm filling up and going back! |

| The days totals: Breakfast: 3 eggs, mushrooms, onions, sprinkle of parmesan Lunch: Tomatoes, onions, herbs, 1/4 cup Couple bites of bbq chicken kebabs (wasn't sure of ingredients so I erred on the side of caution) Dinner: 2 cups mixed greens with oil, herb & vinegar dressing, ounce of gouda chopped in it Snack: ounce of gouda, couple pieces of turkey jerky Calories: 803 Carbs: 13 Fat: 63 Protein: 50 Drank at least 2 Nalgene's worth of water Tried the Psyllium in water and gagged on it, gross! I'll try to eat more tomorrow! Going to make a vegetable stew that I can portion out for ease of use. |

| That doesn't look like enough food...was 1 ounce of Gouda at dinner enough protein to satisfy your hunger? Re: jerky - check for sugar, it is nearly impossible to find sugar-free jerky here... Re: psyllium: Metamucil & some store brands make psyllium caplets, much easier to take!
