| I'm staying away from anything sweet during my induction. I don't need a reason to crave it. As it stands, cocoa is not on the induction menu, although further down the OWL rungs I think it's okay - somebody gave a neat recipe for cream cheese and cocoa mixed together to make chocolate cheese balls. I just don't need any excuses as to why I'm not following the plan as it was written. Also - I don't think alcohol is until further down the rungs in OWL, and the amount of sugar substitute would probably make it completely off limits for induction. Sounds yummy though like as a treat for when I have figured out total carbs i can eat in a day without gaining. |

| Stay away from the sweet reminders of what you used to eat for a while. Break the sweet addiction first. Eating fake sweets can be a slippery slope for many people. Decide whether you want to lose the weight by fighting the sweets or if it isn't that important and you'd rather indulge yourself.

| Wow holy sugar shock. That would send me spinning even if it is artifical. We are allowed only three servings of sweeteners a day. I think I used up two just reading that recipe Chocolate/cocoa is allowed on rung three. And the other recipe also contains nuts that are for rung three. There are things you can do with cocoa and nuts later on but I would keep the sweetener somewhat lower.

| Induction is the time you should be breaking your addictions to sugar and soda's -- give it up for 2 weeks - you'll be surprised you won't want it at the end of induction. Use your carbs to eat whole foods - not junk. The junk is what got each of us to the point we were when we began.
